Man I don't really get the hate for the soundtrack. Maybe it's cuz I'm biased towards jazz, but I actually like it better than P4's soundtrack in retrospective. The "standout" songs (Last Surprise, Life Will Change, Rivers in the Desert, Beneath the Mask, etc) all hit it out of the park in my opinion, and the ambient songs are also pretty good. I don't mind Lyn either, I can see where Meguro was going in terms of having a "jazz style" singer with a deeper voice, and I think a lot of people just expected Hirata again and was let down. The only thing I'm disappointed in is the Engrish ("shapeshifter" in Beneath the Mask will always irk me) but it's not like I haven't come to expect that in Persona.

TMS#FE has no social links so it's straight up dungeon play mostly. You're in the first battle within like 10 minutes I think of starting the game, 20 tops if you muck around in the lobby talking to people.

Combat is really fun. If you like SMT or Persona, it's a solid buy. If you hit a weakness, ally characters can use their chain skills so your two teammates chain off your, and more and more stuff keeps getting added to this system as the game goes on. I think the combat is a bit better than P4 but I've only played both games once.

But, again, it's got basically no social links, only side quests and while the waifus are great, they're more animu stereotypes than P4's storytelling.

They're outright forgettable. Bigest problem with the score is that they're very much temp music and in general don't really stand out at all.

Lynn's probably is that she's a lousy vocalist when it comes to these sort of lyrics assorted. Hirata knew how to match her voice with the tempo of the music while it always feel that Lynn is falling back and isn't matching the tempo to the lyrics which fucking sucks because P5 has a lot of potentially great instrumentals being bog down by shitty vocals. Another huge issue is the decision to use certain tracks(the mid boss theme is better than the main boss theme, negating to use Rivers in the Desert for the final boss and jist give it a generic theme instead) you want to know why P3fags won't fucking shut up about the ending theme? Its because it matched the scene perfectly and it was an excellent use of it while with P5 its just misfire after misfire.

Bare in mind that when people say the soundtrack is weak its mainly in comparison to the previous installments, its still a good soundtrack just not great. P4 had a lot of variety in its OST yet despite that it still has a voice of its own that makes it standout while P5 is the very definition of bland and generic,

P6 is a backpacking-around-the-world game, and of 8 characters not including the mascot, only 3 can be Japanese. What nationalities do you make the remaining 5?
