The lead up to Haru's dungeon would be all the downtime you could possibly need if the game actually let you do things during the day and not force you to bond with Futaba.
I wouldn't feel that the game ended too quickly if they spent maybe a day or two on that at most instead of using up the rest of August, dumping you off just as the Hawaii trip starts, which then goes right into Morgana leaving after you get back. Between the Futaba deadline and the 15th of September you get like one day to do with however you want.

In P4 every character you meet after Chie is tied ti the plot and the overall mystery because it gives us a big picture of the villain's primer motive which ties into the victim he chooses. Yukiko is particular is the crux to the case because it kicks off where the investigation is being led to. In contrast to P5 which only has two characters from your group who are actually important to the plot while the rest are just there and one doesn't actually get any relevance until THE VERY LAST LEVEL OF THE GAME. A lot of people tend to confuse their dislike for a character with their overall significance to the story.

Most of the movie is their stupid as fuck reactions to the end of the world, which was already too drawn out in the game. So it was pretty shit. Ending was okay and the battle against Ryoji was cool. He seemed uncanny as fuck, I liked it.

That's how I understood it. Though I was rather surprised at just how much solo relationship stuff the Golden added. There's even a few dungeon dialogues where there's a bit of jealously thrown the way of your gal if she's in the IT though nothing toxic or awkward like it would be if you were dating more than one girl.
If it makes you feel better,I pursued the Chie route in my second playthrough when Yu's stats would be high enough to explore all those high-stat dialogue choices in the early parts of the game and her social link. Had him date Yumi in the first since I never got the chance to pursue her SL in the Vanilla version of P4.

I also wish that the game was as morally ambigous as they kept saying it was. You're never really in the wrong, and the one time it even hints that you're in the wrong ("you killed someone") it turns out, nope, Goro did. Even the whole "mind rape" thing you're doing isn't morally ambigous when the villains literally cannot be touched by the law and it's clear that they can't "leave it to the police" or whatever alternatives because it won't work. The villains are as black as it gets, too.

I have 85 hours in it since the JP release and I can only agree about the music and battle system.
Revamped Smirk is still broken, but in a fun way. P5 is still a MUCH more balanced game all-around, has the superior fusion and the dungeons are actually really fucking good. If 4F wasn't tied to 4 maybe it would've been good too, but alas you had to do all of 4's shit dungeons again in that game.

I understand if we're playing with devil magicks and shadow worlds you need some inhuman mystical boss but I'd like it if Atlus could give the obligatory inhuman mystical boss a bit more narrative punch. These games always coast after the rival stuff is done.

fuck you're right. I never liked SMT4 and 4A's soundtrack but they're better than P5's.
Don't want to talk about the combat system. TMS#FE shit all over SMT4 in every way, even fucking plot. And I'll need more time to see if the fixes to SMT4's fucking garbage combat make it acceptable game.
