Because of how status works in MonHun, it isn't a good idea to focus your skills on exploiting the status itself.

Since the status resistances raise every time, each time will be exponentially harder to inflict damage, and all those skills end up doing nothing in the long run.

Even if you get Bomb Boost, Status Crit and Felyne Pyro you'll get probably one more blast proc, if any. It's only somewhat useful in multi-monsters quests where you'll get blasts/status more quickly and it'll make some difference. But even so, it's more efficient to go >>155198719 >>155198756 anyways.

3U has HP bloat so you should not force yourself to solo GUILD HALL quests.
4U has much better movesets, lots of content but most of the new content is badly done (worse than the way underwater was handled) but the rest is good, the monsters aren't as good as 3U's but at least it's free from some of its cancer (replaced with its own)
4U has a roguelike component with guild quests (best and worst part of the game) and very late game is fighting apex monsters ( horrible if you're new, bliss if you're good)

I would still recommend 3U first since it's the most traditional experience (and most content is top tier, besides a few monsters introduced in 3U and P3rd.)

3U has underwater combat which uses free camera
On a N3DS it's no so bad but it's better on the Wii U because moving down on the nub is ficky so having an actual second stick is great

4U has similar flaws because it's 3ds only and heavily vertical instead of having underwater portions

Nibble has an attack where it comes completely out of the ground and chases you in a straight line 3 times in a row, mouth open. If you put a bomb on the way, it'll eat it and be in a heavy stagger. There you can fish it at by pressing A and fuck it up.
Look it up on Youtube, I'm sure there are videos showing how it works.
There are other opportunities, but this is the most obvious one.

When nibel is doing the chomping charge attack, you place a bomb and bait him into eating it. He'll do the charge three times in a row usually.
If done correctly, the bomb will explode and leave nibel in a vertical position like an erect proverbial penis (he also gets into this position if you stagger him to much). Stop attacking, sheathe, and press A to fish him out for more free hits.
Sometimes retards completely fuck this up by continually tripping you while nibel is in a fishable position. Be warned.

On the topic of Energy Blade - I was toying with the idea of making a set that focuses on hitting as many of those beautiful 180-250MV beam swords as possible.

I'd love to do this set with a deviant weapon but I either use this with the Tigrex CB or drop AuS and get to use a deviant weapon, for the increased hunter art charge rate. Which do you guys think would be better?

I lost my shit when I saw Crag 1 combines are 20 x Nitroshrooms in Gen instead of the 10 x Burst Arrowana it was in previous games

I just triblast and rapid crag to the face and then use normal 2 while theyre down, then when they get exhausted I chain flashbombs and normal 2 so they can't leave the area

with ammo saver sometimes I get 3+ free triblasts and even more free crag
