Yes and I think that's exactly the point on why they keep lore of the places outside of our immediate region - a mystery - so they can just adjust the scale, lore and importance of them according to development time and what they fish to focus on.
It's a very pragmatic way of doing things but it also makes the world feel more empty and unfinished.

Why is this game considered good exactly?

Played to lvl 10 on my free trial because I heard it was good but I'm pretty unimpressed.

I mean it just looks, feels and plays like a f2p korean MMO.

Why should I be interested in the world exactly? The story is so generic and boring, the races all look like humans, the music is uninspiring and the combat is worse the vanilla WoW (legit).

But this is a good argument. MMOs dont have the same pacing as single player games. Making a judgment call on an MMO in a few hours is like reading the first 2-3 pages of a book to decide if you like where the plot is going. Short of some catastrophic problems like being able to not play it on your system, or the controls being utterly unplayable theres really no excuse to dropping an MMO that quickly. I acknowledge that XIV is slower than some because the intro is used to introduce you to the main city and the NPCs, but I can't think of many MMOs that are action packed in the first 10 levels. I guess maybe Tera because they put you in a 'flash forward' tutorial zone for like 30m where you play a high level version of your class.

I think XIV does have a world just as interesting as WoW (for how new it is compared to WoW's built up decades of lore). The tutorial is a little bit too gamey though. They focus way too much on mechanics, fetch quests without purpose, and only meeting a handful of local NPCs who mostly serve no purpose after that first interaction.

The story of Eorzea is distinct. Them adding in primals/summons and generic concepts from previous games for fanservice shouldn't remove from what they have created originally in XIV. Since it has such little to build on they do rely on older concepts from the series in a strange way because unlike WoW, FF doesn't have a fixed universe or timeline making XIV a bit awkward when they implement things at random. I kind of wish they would shy away from the fanservice and focus on creating more original lore central to that universe. Or go full fanservice and return to Ivalice.

Nope, sorry. WoW's soundtrack is objectively inferior and clearly uninspired by comparison. FFXIV is loaded with memorable tracks that I can go back and listen to regularly.

Playing WoW from vanilla through Cataclysm and I still have yet to ever feel an urge to go back and listen to a single track from WoW because none of them were ever memorable enough.
