Yeah, I'm serious. I'm barely paying attention because I'm always more interested in gameplay (though even weakish gameplay can be made up for with other aspects if they're good enough).

I'm asking, because Persona 3 and 4 didn't leave me with the best impressions, hard as I tried to like them. I was wondering of the improved dungeons and changes to the social links (in additional to other elements that seem kinda interesting) would interest me. Well, it's already up on the internet, so I may as well give it a shot. Honestly I should try Persona 3 and 4 again too at some point, I had a lot of games I was trying to get through at the time and I'm sure rushing through the two of them, especially in Japanese (only started studying a few years ago, so while Persona isn't exactly difficult, it can still be taxing at time due to all of the test), so that probably didn't help things.

Not in the west. Huge portions of the Persona fandom intertwine with the Mass Effect/Dragon Age fandoms here. Hell, Mike Laidlaw, the creative director for Dragon Age, has praised P4 as one of his favorite games. It may be a different story in Japan, I really don't know.

I've only had that happen in Dragon Age 2, which has a poorly designed and somewhat confusing approval system when you compare it to the first game. In other Bioware games I felt it was painfully obvious when you were about to initiate a romance or hit on a character.

I just enjoyed her personality, and the spin-offs only solidified that since she had more screentime.
I agree that her S.Link was awful but it wasn't just fusing and nothing else. she does actually develop and change through it. She is cold at first and only decides to go with it to understand Liz's actions, why would she abandon something as important as her duty for her guest. People complain that you couldn't take her out on dates like with Liz, but that's because Liz had interest in human world while Margaret only wants to understand Yu's heart and does so through seeing him fuse what could be different aspects of his personality (the scene after you fuse Gdon is a good example of that, she says something like "even someone like you could hardbor such a beast inside your heart"), she also starts opening up to Yu and showing interest in things unrelated to her work (while the story about Black Frost could be applied to Yu and IT or the player and the game, it also works very well with herself and Liz or Yu). She then starts questioning herself, her purpose and even decides that there are more important things than her duty, saying that she's ready to abandon it for Yu.
And I thought it was adorable how much she cared about Liz and her happiness in PQ.
