I perfer PvG(player vs gankers) Dry fingering and seeing how long you last.

At least in 2 it made a little bit of sense since the good shields were typically locked behind progress barriers and difficult to acquire without prior knowledge, so the shitty shields served a prupose as a holdover until you found a better one. In 3? You get a 100% shield in the high wall. The rest have no reason to exist.

2h a Black Knight Glaive and stagger your R1s, attempting to "catch" their sprinting attacks and/or R1s with your hyper armor, allowing you to perform the R1>L2>R1 combo, easily hitting upwards of 600 damage on the most heavily armored of opponents.

HOW TO COUNTER BLOODHARD'S LEOSWORDS

Dark Sword, Estoc, or CSS R1 spam. Don't get counterstruck. Use the Lothric Knight shield until they get into the rhythm of spamming rolling L1, and setup parry their R1s, or just attempt to parry the rolling L1, but never more than once a minute, or they'll catch on and being doing rolling L2's, which are unparriable.

HOW TO COUNTER QUICKSTEPPERS

Use a high stability shield and a fast-hitting weapon to catch them during their instability frames.

HOW TO COUNTER GREATSHIELD/BLACK KNIGHT SHIELD GARGOYLE FLAMESPEAR/ESTOC TURTLERS.

Deep Astora Straight Sword, Deep Carthus Curved Sword, or other, fast-hitting weapons infused with Deep.. Deep Manserpent hatchet may also work. Don't give them an opening for them to attack.

HOW TO COUNTER BLACK SERPENT SPAMMERS(AND CASTERS IN GENERAL)

Any crossbow. Avelyn's crossbow is particularly effective.

HOW TO COUNTER ONIKIRI & UBADACHI
Keep away, but don't play too passive, or they will tend to start using running attacks heavily.

HOW TO COUNTER PASSIVE GLAIVE
Magic can deal with this decently. Pyro, Sorcery, and Faith are all great. I find Faith especially good, since it shuts down any usage of L2-R1 combos and their variations with its trade capabilities. Crossbows can work to a lesser extent; aim to hit them during their lengthy R1 animations. Otherwise, G/BKS turtle works consistently.

You are literally retarded. Onikiri and Ubadachi running attacks are pretty shite compared to other running attack of it's class. Firstly, you can't chain them like with other katana running attacks, because you cannot block with oni&Uba. Secondly, oni&Uba has no range. Those two factors combined make passive play with something like CCS or estoc or washing pole OPTIMAL against oni&Uba, not the other way around. Oni&Uba is shit, because it cannot into R1 warfare and into running attack warfare and it's gimmick is just a gimmick, which is easily countered by not being reddit tier retard.

Is it ever elaborated on as to when New Londo takes place in the DaS1 timeline?

The Four Kings have Lord Soul fragments, meaning that they were alive at the time for Gwyn to grant them fragments of his soul. Yet at the time of Oolacile, it's established that Gwyn has already disappeared and linked the First Flame. At the same time, the Greatsword of Artorias' description says that he hunted Darkwraiths, and those presumably only existed from New Londo onward, yet it's already been doubly cursed by the time you fight him in Oolacile (first from the Covenant, and second from Manus).

Given that geographically, New Londo and Oolacile Township occupy the same location, the logical conclusion is that New Londo was built on the ruins of Oolacile, and that the Darkwraiths are Kaathe's second attempt to lure mankind into the Dark. Yet all other things above imply that New Londo happened before Oolacile, in which case New Londo would have been torn down instead, yet it still exists in the present day.

I don't want any of that "time is convoluted" bullshit, is there a logical explanation for this or did Miyazaki just say "fuck it" and built up Oolacile for the player experience?
