The only degree that will land you a decent job at a baccaulerate level is Electrical Engineering. Even biology/physics/chemistry majors by themselves will land about a 40k job. Unless you're in Engineering, you need to go into grad school in order to get good paying job. It's why I chose psychology as my major. It's a very flexible degree and I'm hoping to go into grad school for I/O psychology. I changed my mind from majoring in a physical science because I didn't want to become a shitty high school or community college teacher.

If you like or want to use a frame for any reason, you should do what you want to do. Hell, I do it all the time. I gave Frost an "A" but I hate him and almost never use him, I think he's boring as shit. But the important thing is the knowledge that he's a good frame.

The guide is a resource; it gives you detailed descriptions of how good each frame is and their roles. It's up to you whether you want to use it. If you love Oberon and think he's fun then go for it, use him as much as you want. But it's highly beneficial to realize that Oberon is widely regarded as one of the worst frames in the game, and in high-level missions you may struggle significantly more with him than with other frames.

It's not a "one or the other." It's not "Either use the wiki OR use the guide." You can use both, and in fact I encouraged people to read the wiki for basic shit. You SHOULD use both.

The wiki is very good for answering simple, straight-forward questions such as "How much damage does this ability do?" and "What does the augment for this ability do?" The wiki is NOT a good place to answer general questions such as "is X frame good?" and "how do I build X frame?" For those questions, it's significantly better to ask an experienced player for his opinion, or in this guide, it's significantly better to look in the guide.

Every frame in the game is viable, so grading is an objectively bad way to do a tier list. Bad grades carry bad connotations, especially when most kids in school are trained to learn that anything below a B isn't satisfactory. If you want to make a good tier list, you use Top/High/Mid/Low/Bottom.

Every frame is viable, but some frames are more viable than others. If someone asks you, "Which frame do I get?" Are you really going to tell him to get Hydroid/Oberon/Limbo over Loki/Frost/Nova?

It used to be a tier list, but people got so mad their favorite frames were in low tier that I switched to grades instead. There are similarities, but overall I like the grade system better, because it doesn't imply strict superiority like an ordering of frames in a tierlist. It's also more flexible and subtle, e.g. you can change a frame from B to B+ or B- depending on DE's patches, whereas jumping from one tier to another requires a huge rework.

I fail to grasp your system, which is partly why the list is inherently flawed. You don't seem to have a set criteria for which frames are more or less useful, its just based on your preferences. Oberon can easily provide damage and CC if built correctly, and can even heal at the same time. Not many frames can do this while only taking up one spot in a team. So he has a niche whether its efficient or not.

Grade is based on my opinion, this is true, but it's based on the opinion of someone with 1.2k hours in the game as well as the opinions of many other anons. There is no "set criteria" because it's impossible to create strict guidelines; frames can't be shoehorned into particluar grades, you can't just mark off checkboxes. The general questions asked by this guide, in order of importance, is this:

"Does this frame have utility/CC?"
"Does this frame have trouble with survivability?"
"Does this frame have better damage potential than weapons?"

For example, your Oberon case.

No, he cannot. All his damage is set. None of it scales. Try to use Reckoning on a lv100 HG and see how much damage it does.

He has minimal CC potential, which is mentioned in the guide. Rad procs are incredibly unreliable as CC, and there are significantly better alternatives.

Healing is the most overrated "role" in the game. Warframe isn't an MMO, healing is pointless when you can die in 2s, and bringing a frame for healing is further pointless because there are so many BETTER alternatives. Literally any frame can outheal Oberon just by bringing Lifestrike, or Furis, or Medi-Ray, or health pads.

If you think Oberon is good, then you either have not played other frames or you do not do high-level content, which is what the guide is based around.

So uh, someone in the last thread mentioned needing to use channeling in order for melee to do enough damage lategame.

The thing is, I've altered my keybinds and I can't seem to channel anymore. Moved the standard attack in melee mode to M1 instead of sharing the same key with the quick melee, now the key I set for channeling seems to do absolutely nothing. I'm still only starting out so regular slashing seems to be more than adequate, but what gives?
