Glavenus is a good and better monster than most things in the game, certainly better than half of the shitty monsters people here circlejerk about. Also Gammoth is on Frozen Seaway and when you combine the fact that Gammoth is unreasonably large with Frozen Seaway being a hellhole of slopes it becomes a fight where actually seeing shit is near impossible unless you're shooting him. Gammoth in general would be a much better monster if they made it at least a third smaller than what it currently is.

The objectively best style is Striker due to 5% more damage on axe mode, but Adept is pretty awesome too and can make you invincible if you master the perfect guard and dodge. Aerial is meme tier just like other aerial style and guild is practically useless.

None of the arts are really worth using, maybe Limit Breaker but not really. Energy Blade is only worth-it-kinda-not-really to use in conjunction with Limit Breaker, and Healing phial is blacklist tier.

The only thing you do with aerial is dry-hump a monster in an attempt to make your team waste time watching you shake your maracas on a monster's head. Mounting is a good way to lockdown a monster, but most aerial shitters doesn't know how to count mount threshold and mount at the most inopportune moment. Aerial is unoptimal in terms of damage and you're better off using other style instead.

In a 4 man gangbang high rank only game mounts are never wasted nor needed really. Do what you feel.

A monster truly sleeps once it finished its lay down animation, so you have a couple seconds to react and stop your attack. The wake up damage boost only counts for one attack, hence why bomb is preferred too wake up a monster, especially since they do 3 times the damage, though in G rank GS can outdamage it. Even with bombs, even if you stack 8 LBB+s for example, only the first bomb to explode deals the multiplied damage, that's why if you set off the LBB+ with a small bomb, make sure you give some distance to the small bomb so the small bomb's explosion isn't the one that wakes up the monster.

Waking hit does the bonus damage. No sources seem to agree on whether all waking attacks do 3x damage, or if that's just to items/projectiles while melee attacks do 2x.

So, a single BBL+ can do 450 damage. Though even with a 2x multipler, late-high rank GS sets or better can do as much or more damage than a BBL+, or at least deal enough damage alongside two of them to do more than the two bombs alone. Run some damage calculations.

No, you idiots. It has nothing to do with deadangling. It damages you because it breaks your guard. If you chug a mega dash juice you should be fine, except the chip damage coming through.
The reason for this is that the second spin seems to be a whopping THREE-hit attack. I think it spawns a blast cloud that hits you, it hits you with the tail itself, and detonates the blast.
If you're using adept guard, you can try spamming the R button after the initial guard to mitigate the follow-up damage instances.

Still, a pretty fucking unfair attack.

I use multiplayer almost exclusively for farming. I've killed tons of Silver Raths at this point; I don't really want to spend fifteen minutes farming another or, heaven forbid, more than that because that fucker is more stingy with his drops than the goddamn Wycoon.

The lesson you should be learning here is not to fucking block any of the tail spins with whatever shit shield you're using. SnS? Don't do that shit. Even Guard+2 Lance takes a fair chunk of chip damage.

So if you can't position yourself properly to avoid it, or you aren't Supermanning for whatever reason (there's enough time to superman both slashes), then choose a weapon with Adept and stop bitching about it, because it's literally the most telegraphed attack in the entire game with the biggest safe spot.

For the record, I've perfect blocked both slashes before. There are no multiple hits.

One thing I don't get is how Gypceros is able to steal items. Yeah, it does it by pecking you, but the head takes up most of the hunter's body, making its stealing almost impossible.

I just can't bring myself to get hype about MHGen. Maybe I'm just burned out. If I hadn't lost my 4U save I'd probably still be playing it, but at the same time I really can't put my finger on why MHGen is just not doing anything for me. Given I'm pretty early on, but every time I get around to playing it, it just feels like a huge chore, even moreso than the average MonHun early game.

Maybe my spark has died.

Generations is pure garbage early on and at end game but the sweet center when you have a couple of good sets and still not at grinding dreadshit and glavanus is fun af. Stick through all the bubble popping and gathering shits until you reach the good bits then stop after you get to grinding high level deviants.

Gens tried hard to be nostalgic and all, but I think it made the game lack an identity of its own.

Hunting styles are poorly implemented, Hunter Arts are cool but feel just slapped on to the game.

Hyper monsters are better than frenzy gameplay-wise, but lack the charm frenzied and apex monsters had (they felt concise with the rest of the setting, Hyper just feels artificial).

The new monsters are pretty cool, but feel wasted on such a soulless game.

Gens feels like they just compiled "the best" of MonHun, slapped some shit on it and called a day.

Truth is, I'm probably just getting fatigued from all the goddamn menial gathering quests. Sure I could skip them and shoot straight for the hunts, but the more I put the off, the less likely it is I'll bother doing them further down the line. But I want to complete all the quests all the same. Ultimately it's more my fault than the game's.

I think most of the Hunter Arts can be, and should be in the future, integrated into the weapon's moveset, with obvious limitations. Like maybe you could overload your SA a la Demon Riot, but you couldn't reload for its duration, and discharges would still use gauge. Or Blast Dash being tied to some sort meter, like a built-in Art.

I think if the power of some Arts was toned down a bit, they'd be fine additions to the movesets of most weapons.
