They're not limited to 1 because the class is too good you chucklefuck. It's because they become stronger in groups. Demomen can stay within midrange of each other so if you get close to one, the other shoots you. Heavies in groups are just incredibly gay to push against because they have 900 HP collectively. Engineer stacking should need no explanation as to why they get better in groups. Alone the classes (except Demo) are garbage because they have 0 mobility.

That's exactly what I addressed with my changes though.

Every class becomes stronger in groups; but the reason why Demo, Heavy, and Engineer are limited to only 1 is because they become *defensively* stronger in groups, and as such slow down the game and create stalemates.

It's why they're limited to 1 and Scout/Soldier (who are offensively stronger in groups) aren't.

As it is, my Engineer change is targeted solely at Engineers in groups.

Hackers are uncommon. Balance is focused around communication, good aim and playing for objectives. If your teammates never talk, are unskilled and just drift around aimlessly looking for frags then you will probably lose. But really, a big factor in balance is good map design, avoid the poorly made maps and gamemodes.

If you think the heavy medic combo is op then I don't know what to tell you except that heavy has been nerfed and medic has been buffed.

STAPLE DEFENSE:
You can hate them all you want because of their misery but these guys also put things together.

Clutches the defenses with Sentry, picks up gear as line defense pushes further, carries the less mobile classes elsewhere with teleports, still helpless against a simple über if no one helps him.
>Sniper:
Follows the trail of line defense, can't be in active combat at all, picks high value targets to slow down line defense, useless slow mobility when no safe haven teles, abuses small gaps between plates or window frames for potshots.
>Pyro:
Pushes a line defense for Engi and Sniper, camps at high floors, dive flanks on Medic at/from enclosed spaces, sweeps for Sentry rather than pockets, helps Engineer, mediocre mobility, jack of all trades but master of none.

Let me reflect upon my own creation for a moment:

Top classes: completely independent from each other. Soldier or Scout don't need a Demoman to do good at all. However all 3 can do better by the care of a Medic. They're pretty much counter classes to each other only with skill.

Middle classes; Heavy completely dependent on Medic to evade Spy, Medic is dependent on Heavy to block Sniper fire. Heavy is indirectly dependent on Spy to distract and break resistance ahead when über is not ready. When über is deployed Medic should be the leader of the duo.

Bottom classes: Pyro leads the line defense other two follows, but Pyro and Sniper totally dependent on Engineer and how often he's willing to carry his gear near the core of combat. All 3 are harassment classes they hardly have upper hand against each other again.

The problem with soldier/demo is ammo, they have to fall back and reload very often where heavy is only held back by his health bar, and can deal up to 550 DPS
The only problem then is range, since anyone with a brain would distance themselves from the combo
Kritz heavy is the strongest combo in the game for this reason, anyone in his line of sight is dead

However, soldier pocket is much more consistent and reliable, since heavy is weak to sniper/spy, can't spam out sentries from a distance/around corners, and generally gets gibbed easily if the opposing team has kritz

in a pub, heavy + medic is easily OP, but in the real game anyone with a brain can exploit the obvious weaknesses and take your combo down

Today I had some free time to grind out ranks in comp MM, but hour after hour I started tilting super hard
It seems that everyone who plays comp MM hates making an attempt to do something right, some players telling me that I was a 'try hard' for not wanting a blu engi on gorge
And I understand that some people will want to play pyro, so I don't bitch about that, but a spy keeps backstabbing our medic and our pyro refuses to be around the medic
I explained this as explicitly and nicely as possible, that all a pyro has to do is stay near the medic. And I tell them over and over, to not flank and stay near the medic:

>"If you are not near the medic, then find the medic and defend him pyro. A spy keeps killing him and we need to preserve our uber"

and then he dies to a soldier in some far off retarded place. For the 5th time in a row. I don't mind my teammates doing bad, in fact I try my hardest to make it easy for them. A medic didn't have the crossbow, so I gave him a strange one for free.
When I was playing on one map, I told our medic to get back because it wasn't safe, and he ran through kitchen towards mid. When he died and I asked him why he didn't go back, he replied:

and my anger drained away. He didn't know the map and was trying to get away, he was actually putting forth effort. What infuriates me is that I keep telling our pyro to stay near the medic, and he is mentally incapable of doing just that. It doesn't matter if you're playing against b4nny or some 12 year old who likes minecraft, you just need to STAY NEAR THE MEDIC

Well you'd be wrong most of the time. A unubered demo can do what an ubered heavy can't, the only downside the demo has is that he has to eventually reload his 12 explosives.
