I experienced problems with all of those things, so they're all worth a shot.

The icons for Welcome Park, VitaShell and MolecularShell have to be swapped manually.
Welcome Park and Playstation Store just wouldn't work directly from the theme applied. And there's no way to change icons that are not from the system via a theme.

It's closer to 80/90 percent. And saying it is better than WiiU is debatable. You've got backwards compatibility cracked on that. You can play games from any Nintendo console expect 3DS and practically 100% will work. The only things you are missing is online, which is a non-issue for nintendo, and DLc which is a bummer, but considering how broken that is on Vita doesn't put it at a disadvantage.

How do I backup my sysNAND using hourglass9? I technically already have a backup on my sd card named NANDmin.bin and another file, NANDmin.bin.sha that are from the guide I followed to downgrade and install a9lh. For the time being I just want a more recent backup before I decided to update this thing to 11.1. I hear its safe to update for the most part but I just want to be sure. Does it overwrite those files if I make a backup using the same name? (Cuz I only need one backup. I don't want more than that cuz I have others saved in different locations on my computer) And should I update luma first before the system? Apparently it has a new update out as well.

My original 3dsXL's shoulder buttons are breaking and the screen is becoming more and more flimsy. I have rxtools as custom firmware on it as I was too lazy to change it.

Don't know about hourglass9 but all of its code is derived from Decrypt9, I'd say that you get a visual indicator if the file would be overwritten.
There should be an exclamation mark next to the name.
If there isn't, the file doesn't exist.
But you can change the name by pressing left/right and up/down anyway.
