I'll give the Swampy Marsh theme this: It sounds way better in YW2 than it did in the first game. It's still bad but it's at least not terrible this time.

Gera Gera Po doesn't explain to a new viewer what Yo-kai Watch is about. It's gone and it's not coming back.

The movie's not going to have it, the opening isn't going to change (song-wise) again, and the games will have it in the future.

It is a pretty light demo. We got three "boss" battles but they werent really like a lot of actual bosses with the pin mechanic being more heavily used and being more difficult. Like you didnt really feel the pressure of having to use food consistently or see how helpful talismans can be.

A little bit. For once items aren't locked and you can shuffle your team order a bit, but feeding/recruiting enemies are disabled. You can also give yokai item equipment. There's still a lack of a true boss battle, but there are 2 hidden fights against the frog and spiderboy that can be challenging.

Thing is, if you follow the plot straight without exploring the demo will be over really quick, so make sure to go out and sight see. Fishing game was also improved.

Even Codename: Steam is still like 30$ in stores last i checked.

The demo for YW2 isnt all that great of a representation of the experience but it's probably better than the first. If you like monster collectors or exploring a large overworld in a story driven experience i would say you'll enjoy it. The last game was already pretty big but the sequel added more areas as well as the ability to go back in time and experience the location with a new look.

If you're up against the final boss, than I don't think you can get that evolution item. I believe you can only get it from fighting Pinkipoo in the Yokai World which is blocked off from that point in the story. Unless I missed something my playthrough.

Guts is more courageous compared to Moxie's determination. It also just sounds more masculine and mature while moxie is more girly or childish to me.

I can see others not thinking it's a big deal, but i'm a bit paranoid on their handling of 2. In Japan it was the thing that launched the series into the success it has now. I attribute a good deal of this to Keizou's character and that gutsy motif it had going on. I dont think it will have the same impact with these changes. Of course i could be wrong and these all could wind up being done for the better but i dont really see it that way.

I'm worried about YW2, too, but I think it's too early to judge Keizou in the English version just yet. Not until we all get our hands on the game and see the movie in October. So far I think the worst bit of localization was what the dub did to episode 25 of the anime, so I'm hoping it's fixed in game.

The plushes are fine, imo. I like their quality, especially Komasan's flames. They could've made them thin felt pieces like Japan did with some of them.

If they put a bit more effort into the Medal Moments figures (had fucking quality check on the paint jobs) they'd be great for collectors.

But yeah, the Model Zero watch tells me that they now think "Okay, this sells, calm down on the quality now."

I don't think the projector is going to be on any future watches. I feel like it was just added to give kids more of a reason to want it after the first watch came out not too long ago.

If YW2 does well enough for us to get more games, we're likely gonna get the spin-offs, meaning more downtime between the introductions of watches, meaning kids are more likely to get bored of the Zero Watch and want a new one regardless.

The only finite coins are 5-star, Gemnyan(You only benefit once), and Excitement. All others are unlimited.

You can get to the point where the Crank-a-kai is available about 20 minutes in, grab 3 5-star coins using Passwords, and roll to get three S-rank exclusives, to which only Gemnyans and Legends are more powerful.

I'm doing that sort of playthrough right now. Password for some holy orbs and you can smash the game start to finish.
