This isn't a good webm but this is the only webm with this path that I have, and I just wanted to say that I really love this particular side route in Numbani.

Most people forget that it exists or that there are stairs between the room above the arch and this room so a lot of people don't actually bother looking in this general direction first when they think/know something is up. They know there's a staircase from the arch room to the stairs that lead straight out to the defender's driveway but not this one. And *IF* they find you here, you can just run left into their spawn and make them split up half their forces at the main choke just to chase you or you could just run back into the arch room (after picking up the big health pack) where you can probably get a pickoff or two against the people who decided to chase you.

I'm sure the story is different above Diamond but at my current level in comp, this is one of my most favourite and effective flanking routes.

You baited it out, somehow avoided the giant dash hitbox and his instakill combo? Now he has positional superiority over you and is triple jumping around, stunning him will send him sliding around from the momentum basically wasting your flashbang.

You ignored all that and threw it at his feet or his sides so it doesn't get reflected? Reflect's hitbox has the same proportions to Genji as Reinhardt's shield to Reinhardt so it was reflected anyway.

I'm okay with 60 honestly. One of my friends bought a 120hz monitor and he kept telling me the difference it made, but I never saw it.
Then I went to upgrade my monitor and bought the same one, played Payday on it and fuck me it makes a difference.

It's not as severe as playing at 60 frames and going back to 30 frames in terms 120 to 60; But if you've ever felt that a game is lovely smooth when you upgrade from 30 to 60? It's like that from 60 to 120.

You can live without 120 frames, 90, 60 and play on 30 but you sure as fuck don't want to.

I came out of my placement matches seeded ~2800. Is that good? I know the rating goes from 1-5000, so I figure I must be pretty average, but everyone's using voice comms and it seems like my opponents are way more organized than I've ever seen before. I think I'm holding a stable 50% winrate but it's kind of jarring how serious the game got all of a sudden and I don't really think I'm that good...

Yes. There's a video explaining this for counterstrike. Basically, if you have a higher framerate, the delay between the last frame rendered and what you see on the screen is smaller. Though it all depends on when the frame is done rendering compared to when the display will sync the last frame, there's a chance that you'll have the same low delay with exactly 144 fps.
The difference between a 144Hz display and a 60Hz display is that you'll see more frames, so it's more fluid, and there are more chances for the display to show the last rendered frame.

But in short, yes it's always better to have a higher framerate. How much you'll notice personally is obviously subjective.

G-sync and Freesync are more for when you don't get the highest framerate though. G-sync will do absolutely nothing if you have 144fps. My framerate varies from 100 to 144, so I just have freesync enabled. And it's a bit of a hassle to turn off per game.

Well it's definitely a lot better than QP "let's go 6 Symmetra hahaha it's just for fun!" scrubs, but I feel a lot more pressure on me too. McCree is my favorite hero at the moment, but I don't really feel confident playing him in competitive anymore, because it feels like every time I miss a headshot it's probably the one that cost us the teamfight. D.Va is the hardest tank to play by virtue of being the worst tank with no clearly defined roles atm

You can't protect teammates as well as Zarya, can't provide blanket cover for your team like Reinhardt, you can't disrupt as well as Winston, and you can't get instant elims as well as Roadhog

She'll always be a flanker/harass tank, which the meta just doesn't really favor atm. The ideal D.Va play is to be kind of suicidal, darting around the fringes of your opponent's defense, building up ult and then using it to bust open a gap for your team. But first your team needs a beefy frontliner who can protect them in the meantime, and D.Va just doesn't do that.

You have to do all the complex stuff to make her worth anything. You need to use Boosters to knock every Pharah out of the air and push every sniper/flanker off their perch. You need to know when to chase somebody down and get that extra booster+melee attack damage. You need to know how to bunny hop for headshots in CQB. You need to know how quickly to booster away from Zarya/Mei/Reinhardt. You need to have positional audio perfection to booster in and Defense Matrix all the shit just in the nick of time, reaper flanks included. You need to know when to lead a charge with defense matrix and when to sit back and just hold LMB.

I think the biggest issue is that Zarya just fucks her up so hard and there's really nobody to pick that specifically removes Zarya as an effective pick.

The other half is that she just has bad design right now, opening her up to counterplay by a lot of the cast. Her only real redeeming feature (Defense Matrix) was nerfed because shitters didn't know how to play around it or simply counterpick

I'm low plat shitter but managed to place at least there by playing solely D.Va in placements and i have been doing okay with her even in faces of Meis and Zaryas. Seen some 3000+ mains who were real monsters with her. I would love some buffs or at least some tweaks to Zarya to kill her popularity a bit but i don't think we will get either.
