What do you think of Fractals?
I believe this is a question of personal taste and preferences when it comes to gameplay. For me, there are some good levels and some terrible levels. I hate the arcade-esque nature of certain levels where I have to dodge Tetris-like bars, maneuvour around spinning laser beams, and the ungodly mess that is 'disabling colliders' in Thaumanova Reactor. Don't get me started on the jumping puzzles. There are people who are good at JPs, there are people who hate them with a passion like I do. Jumping puzzles were always supposed to be bonus content, not mandatory dungeon challenges necessary for daily completion. There are people with acrophobia - fear of heights - and there are people whose hand-eye coordination suck for jumping puzzles. The harpy JP makes me physically nauseous. Was it fun for me and my team when I fell with the hammer on Cliffside fractal?

Except... when you're doing the tedious scavenger hunt in the Lion's Arch Exterminator quest for five hours with 98% completion, only to discover the final karka is at the end of a dark room puzzle.

I see less people with this sword than with the Legendary GS... he can fuck right off with the wanting all rewards easily bit. I earned this T4 fractal exclusive skin, thank you very much.

That said, he's right about the dungeons. They could use to be more rewarding. The problem is that if they overhaul them, like many people want them to, they are going to make them similar in difficulty to the fractal content. Which is exactly what this guy doesn't want.

But there's plenty of solo content available anyway- wubwub is basically solo content, as are all the HoT zones. Yeah, it's group events, but by no means do you need to use the LFG tool to get into them and tool around and do stuff.

I feel bad for people without the hand-eye coordination to do stuff like Jumping Puzzles and the like, but as a hobby you cannot homogenize games to the extent that literally anyone can beat them without turning them into interactive movies. What would Super Mario World for the SNES have been like if they redesigned it so that anyone can go and beat it, even people who are literally retarded? It would have been terrible.

Also, I really hate the "I have this phobia, so I cannot do a thing" argument- back in the days in the long long ago when I played vanilla WoW, the guild I was in had severe raid progression issues in Blackwing Lair because the main tank was pathologically unsocial: he had a real, in-therapy-for-this problem with talking to strangers. This wasn't something that was really discovered until we already sank hundreds of man hours into gearing him up to farm Molten Core. As such, he refused to ever get in any form of voice communication, to the point that he quit the game and forced us to spend a solid 2 months gearing up another tank for Blackwing Lair when the officers set up a ventrillo server and required people to get on it to at least listen in to instructions for raids.

BUT WAIT, there's another way to get them for sad foreveralones. It's more expensive but you can just chuck 40 ecto per trinket at the NPC if you really can't run Gmissions with your guildies then you can farm either solo or with guildies who do have the same hours.

Norn do have clipping problems, though they're not too awful. I don't really like their light armor options so I'd not really say they make good necros, but YMMV.

I've been playing FFXIV for awhile now, and had dropped GW2 after guild drama and just people leaving.
As a person who enjoy roleplay of the not lewd variety, is it possible to still get decent rp in game?
And is it possible to catch up to current meta/raid tier?
I have a set of zerker ascended and the legendary axe rifle.
One of each class, all geared.

Conditions are meta for a few classes now. Necro specifically comes to mind. The gear is a tedious achievement and map grind. Conditions don't do anything interesting; just damage.

Zerk is still meta for a few things. Heal specs for ele and ranger use Magi gear.

You are entirely outclassed without the expac.

RP exists, but your best bet Is establishing yourself out of game on an RP enjin site. Aim for RP guilds in the vein of seraph, inquest or other in-game bodies. It can be a little dicey, but there is good still to be found.

rp can be found though you may need to find a group and get regular with them to get the best quality of rp
you should be able to get into raids fairly quick, id suggest using the zerk warrior to do fractals for free ascended chests to have more options
I believe meta is condi necro, though for raids they typically have a PS warrior, rev for fury and chrono tank, eles and condi necros (though correct me because i may be wrong)
you may need some sprucing up but you should be like... 90% good to go

My warrior class/heavy armor/ has ascended zerk. I don't know what runes/sigils anymore though I know a full set of something that was decent at the time.

im pretty sure its something that cant really be shown in your personal stats because each hit is calculated on a hit by hit basis, based on what your foe has
so it cant really say what your crit chance is because, unless yourr doing a world boss, the vuln stacks on your target will constantly be fluctuating
