You don't need slots for the solmeme set or the ceanataursol suit that gives CE3 and the 5% affinity adds an average of 2.5 raw along with double the white and double the element. The difference is small but it's there. If you don't have a god charm then Taurus is more flexible.

Nakarkos's weapons are really only good as a midpoint between end-of-HR and hyper farming, to be honest. Plus, because of how phials work, you want to focus more on raw than sharpness. By all means, use it if you want to, but if you want to try to use the best weapon you can I'd argue to probably aim for the Tigrex or Narga CB, depending on whether you want a more phial-based or crit-based playstyle.

Maybe in a pure-numbers sense, but with all of the openings that SnS gets that CB doesn't, especially in Gen since it lacks the ability to create its own openings from GPs anymore, SnS most likely outdamages it. Especially thanks to Round Force, which takes like, a combo and a half to charge and has MVs comparable to the axe mode double roundslash, along with having the option of using it to interrupt a combo thanks to its i-frames, and Shoryugeki which is 200 stun if the monster stands still for literally a second (and is still a 135 MV and almost guaranteed exhaust stagger if you miss the head, along with free mount damage)

Affinity oil. It's pretty much always the best choice, unless you're very capable at hitting the head enough for a KO, but then you'd want to switch back to affinity oil anyway. And if you have Shoryugeki, you don't need the stamina oil.

Aerial is shit on most monsters, Gammoth is one of the only ones you can shit on with aerial.

Adept is a bit situational, the adept spirit level up has ver good MV but some monstera move a lot and aren't easy to target with adept attacks.

The real choice for me is between Guild and Striker, both are flexible in arts and the difference in movesets is not a big deal, unless you like x+a fade to the sides, it depends on how much you appreciate that extra art

Guild - fade slashes to fish for spirit 4 openings and 2 arts, great choice

Striker - Also a good choice, no side fade slashes means less spirit 4 openings but you can just spam more sakura slash instead. also 3 arts and LS arts are all great

Adept - High potential but also very low potential. adept dodges are great, and you could level the gauge really fast, or not at all against certain monsters that never give opening for counterattacks.

Aerial - Once you have white you can go into spirit 3 from the air for lots of red gauge and lots of aerial strikes but fast moving monsters will give you trouble since you can do spirit slashes from the ground

Grimclaw is one. I think Silverwind has one, not sure about the Astalos deviant. I'd recommend going through the hell that is Grimclaw. Contrary to what fags on this site say, it's better than Tigrex Blade. 10% Affinity and natural white count for quite a bit – definitely enough to trump a measly 20 extra raw.

Sorry, bud. Charisma basically means it's automatically garbage. You only want fighting cats because they have something like a natural 20 or 30 attack advantage over the closest competitor.
I think Protection or Assisting cats are the second best but generally you just want a fighting cat because they can automatically come with Big Boomerangs.

The core skills are: Big/Piercing Boomerangs and Dung Bombay, followed by teaching it Emergency Retreat from a Protection Cat
Boomerang Pro and Critical Up are the only ones that are mandatory I think for passive skills
The reason Emergency Retreat is so important is because even if you're playing like a gunner and planning to avoid all damage there are two major flaws;
since the cat's so much smaller than a hunter they don't clear as much distance with their evades and because of that you won't have enough time to clear a charge unless you can time your evades, which is the second issue- I've heard cats have less i-frames than a regular hunter, but I'm shit at timing the natural i-frames anyway so I can't vouch for that.

Honestly just set your scouters to fighting and check each of them after each hunt. It shouldn't take long to find a half-decent one. As much as people advocate so hard for all of these secondary things, they don't really matter unless you're planning on going full Jap TA with your cat, which you're probably not.

However, it actually has 25% more raw than the non-deviant Tiggy CB, along with more white (they both get natural white, but the deviant one has a bit more. Enough that I'd say it's an arguing point.)
But in the end I'd say regular Tiggy's CB wins out only because phial damage is fixed damage based on your raw, and while I dropped CB in Gen, it seems like phial damage is even more important now that the axe mode MVs were cut so drastically.

You can fit Focus onto Dreadking with a talisman + one weapon slot and if you're good enough at aiming at 45> zones you won't even need CritDraw, besides with Absolute Readiness you probably won't even sheathe as often.
