To be honest, that really is what the whole game feels like. I should've known that going in. Arts, styles, the deviant system.
If MHXG ends up being a thing, i'd rather have just waited for it and not gotten Gen. Not that i despise Gen, it's still fun, but it's definitely a low point compared to 3U or 4U.

Idk, maybe if they announce MH5 it'll have a solid amount of new content and refine the stuff introduced in Gen. That's what i'm hoping, at least.

I tried looking up if mounting master actually increases your chance of getting a mount or just helps while you're mounting and didn't find anything.
I'd assume airborne is better since its not vague and just gives you more damage.
Also mounting isn't even that great for aerial GS, because you can't charge on the ground, so you have to jump off of them weirdly to hit the head and it wastes time.

Jumping off of a monster counts as damage and wakes them up from sleep too, so you can't reliably wake them up unless small mons are in the area or you do some voodoo barrel bomb shit

So how does one fix an unreponsive O3DS circle pad? Unresponsive as in when I do a full circle motion on the calibrating screen, it goes on an odd diamond shape. Up/down inputs also "trail" back to the middle even after I let go of the stick. Anyone know if Hero's Talisman negates friendly fire knockback? It seems it negates any effects that go along the attack that triggered Hero's Talisman (like Malfestio's scales attacks, if Hero's Tali protects you it also negates the confusion). Because affinity is the crit chance.

40% affinity means 40% chance to land a crit (1.25x damage or 1.4x with Crit Boost).

185% means 100% chance to land a crit, with 85% wasted because you can't understand the stat.

If you have Dark of Night (35%), WE (+50% affinity on 45+ hitzones) you already have 85%. Haya Feather can get you to 100% easily without Crit Draw.

You should get HGE/Earplugs if you're running Guild/Striker.

Remove Weakness Exploit or Crit Draw and replace with Attack Up (S). If sticking with that weapon drop Crit Draw.

People are calling you a dummy because Weakness Exploit will only impact everything after your first draw attack, and even then the weapon has high affinity to make good on that crit chance. And in practice, you won't be landing more than the draw charge outside of monster lockdowns and TA runs. But in this case you'd be better off using Tigrex GS because raw matters.

Tl;DR: While you hacked multiple perfect charms to make prime sets (that Bow one is nice and I wish I had tenderizer 3 on my focus charm), you were better off dropping Crit Draw in favor of Attack Up on your hacked charm. For a legit set you'd drop Crit Draw for CE+2 and still have a slot left. If you'd rather be spoonfed, switch your charm to focus 5 Attack 10 OOO and run Hayabusa/silverSol. Congrats on a 5 skill set that doesn't make you look silly, and on;y look like a cheater.

Are you dense? Crit Draw makes no sense in a high affinity weapon like Dark of Night when you have WE. With the setup I told you, you'll have 85~100% affinity on ALL attacks hitting a weakzone, not only the draw attacks. That means no need to sheathe to reposition when the monster is downed, for example.

Also, it's common knowledge now that WE changed back to what it was in P3rd (affinity instead of hitzone buff).

If you're adamant in running Crit Draw, at least go for a high raw + negative affinity weapon like the Tigrex GS and exchange WE for CE+2.

Crit Draw is not for Dark of Night. Weakness Exploit and Crit Boost come on the same set. Crit Boost is only (viably) obtained from SIlverSol, unreleased Marth DLC, or 10 individual Critical Up gems, that require legend tickets from arena. So dropping WE on Dark of Night with that set is not possible.

The reason people use Dreadking with a Tigrex GS is to get extra lvl 3 charges in, especially, second hits during roars. There is no in between when it comes to GS. It's either Tigrex with Dreadking and a Focus charm, or Dark of Night with a SilverSol mix. There are interesting bludgeoner sets out there, but they are generally outclassed in practice, at least with Guild GS.

With that said do whatever you want to. But please understand that Crit Draw is not for Dark of Night.
