It depends. Against a host/invader who's defensive, I win on attrition because I have a better and I attack a bit faster than a greatsword would.

Against an aggressive guy, as long as he doesn't use cestus, I'm often fucked up. And if he remembers about rolling attacks, I'm often done for. Otherwise, the spear's long range often gives me the edge. People using pike in PvP are too rare to be a real threat, so I almost always have the iniative.

I'd say pyromancer, they're my Pet Peeves, but that's because I'm a very passive player. Usually I invade retards who just rush me the moment they see me, so I often try to lure them to a place where I have an advantage.

The only moment it failed was against a pyromancer who used acid cloud on me.
I failed to recognize it and I lost my weapon, and I ended up losing after trying to switch from my Winged Spear to my Spear.
Magic users are also annoying, because there's no shield who perfectly protects from magic, so I'm forced to be aggressive and I'm bad at it.

Spears are really From's biggest sign of how they haven't improved much over the years. You can't do diddly with them.
The weapon arts in particular are really disappointing. No Ricard's style multiple lunges, nothing fancy or cool, just Shield Splitter and Charge, neither of which are even unique to spears.
They even cut the Stance.
Pic related is a little more than half of the beta Ni-Oh spear moveset and doesn't include things like sweeping enemy legs to knock them down, pole vaulting, parrying, more combos.

The Gaping Dragon has, relative to how early he can be encountered, a pretty fucking huge health pool. Summoning only exasperates his health, and Lautrec and Solaire are all but useless for damaging him to compensate for the health pool. Lautrec is just weak, and Solaire doesnt become all that useful until Anor Londo. Theyre pretty likely to just die before they even pay their dues in damage, which is why I asked the question.

For some reason, the system is set up so that if the invader dies before you finish loading in, you get no reward. This is also apparently bugged and you'll frequently get no reward even if you kill the red yourself, because the game still thinks they died before you loaded in. Ultimately it ends up being a crapshoot whether you get your reward or not.

I've noticed that if the red dies while the host is still T-posed from the 1-way damage glitch, you'll almost never get an ear, so waiting that out is a good strategy to avoid getting bugged out of your reward.

The thing effectively gives you 15 free levels. You can poop on people ganking as a SL 20 +2

Once you get to a SL where a 15 level difference doesn't really matter in a fight, it becomes worthless.

As a SL120 you could beat a SL135 without relying on a ring slot to even you out.

There's nothing lower-leveled about a CMW build.
DMB and CMW both scale exactly the same, but Yorshka's Chime is the highest spell-buff casting tool in the game, meaning DMB's maximum AR boost is effectively higher than CMW at the same stat investment.

I think the ability to make a full tryhard build and have points to spare makes most of those faggots fuck off elsewhere and people get more creative/less focused on optimizing. Some play dark magic since you can actually make a dark build (the spells still suck) or casters with more weapon/spells, you also find a lot of dex/str guys with buffs, which is fun. More armor variety too.
I only do invasions though, so good luck if you want to duel.

No it does not. It shares identical detail and modelling to DaS1 which is unacceptable. Low res textures, low res chains and metal and fabric.

Compare a closeup screen of Fallen Knight's detail versus it.

Elite knight as well as every single set from DaS1 is absolutely 200% unusable.

Alva's set is also a big nono. It has worse detail and shading in every way compared to Dark Souls 2. It's cloth is also worse and missing the double layered fabric and the fine sticking and gold designs, missing all the detail in the metal.

I see people doing all this wrong stuff and it's very bad.

When I see people using pieces of the starting armour I commend them as those are very good.
