I think the Human lore is far more interesting than Charr in both gw1 and gw2.

Charr are probably the least interesting race on Tyria.

I think I'm going to start writing my own stories and lore soon to fill in gaps here and there. There's not enough lore out there for my voracious appetite.

Yes. Some of it is fairly convoluted in order to put together how a Norn could be "related" to my human GW1 characters, but I think I made it work.

My Guardian is a direct descendant. Thief is also direct, but orphaned at a very young age (parents killed in the Ebonhawke sieges).

I haven't made up anything really meaningful for my Sylvari.

So I played GW2 back when it was new but only ever made it to level 50. Came back into it a week or two ago and decided to try an Elementalist and now I'm at 80. I'm trying the Heart of Thorns stuff but any time more than one enemy is on me I'm skirting the limits of my health every time - I'm clearly under-equipped to be doing the HoT content. How DO I get better armour/weapons/etc? I've just been going by drops/quest rewards

A few things I have to clear up with you:

Ele in general is squishy and has a low base HP to begin but the trade-off is immense damage dealing capabilities.

Get a set of Exotic quality armor with the Berserker stats off the trading post.

Get a weapon with the same stats as well

That's Power/Precision/Ferocity stats
This will run you a few gold

The mobs in HoT are also intended to hit you like a truck so your best bet is to pay attention to their abilities and mechanics. Alot of their damage is avoided if you dodge and learn their gimmicks.

Remember: you're an elementalist. You shouldn't be sitting around soaking damage and should be able to nuke packs of enemies down before they can hit you.

I just started a warband RP against bandits, centaur,ghosts, shattered monsters etc and our leader is a bit odd.
