Gen has re-invigorated my desire to hunt after 4U left me feeling disappointed. I'm thinking of getting back into 4U once I finish with Gen.
I'm not quite sure what it was about 4U though. I think it was the concept of relics and apex monsters that just rubbed me the wrong way.

I was not clear, in part because of the character limit. I don't care that Health Horn has a cost, I care that it takes twice as long to do as it does to drink a potion. The long animation is the trade off for healing everyone in the area, so I want a version that is shorter that applies to myself only.

I don't see what you mean, Faster charging means you can start throwing boomerangs sooner and your DPS goes up. A 10% boost in damage means a 7 minute hunt takes 6m 18s, which isn't a big deal unless you're speedrunning.

It's still true. Its impossible to not get hit in multiplayer if you're actively fighting the monster. I'm sorry you have a distorted view that goes against reality where you're literally superman in your autistic imagined playing of monster hunter cause you're too poor to own a 3DS and actually play the games. Getting hit is an inevitability in multiplayer monhun unless it's a gunner hame room. You can't even deny it in terms of skill for Generations since that game is locked at 30fps at best which often isn't enough information per frame to consistently gauge timing correctly.

It's going to happen. It's not gonna matter too much in Gen since there is no g-rank but that's about it.

Unless I'm getting fucked by rng it takes me about a minute or slightly more to get both buffs, and you shouldn't need that many ER's with cat's incredible agility. That leaves traps and furrious. Furrious is insanely good and being able to keep that up 100% of the time could possibly beat out hurler maybe? It depends on how big the support boost is. Traps most likely wouldn't get used, as they are now.

Not getting hit ever was a regular requirement in 4U's GQ rooms, almost as much for bladebabs as it was for gunners, and I've never hame'd shit. I've spent a good half of the 600 hours of 4U doing 140 Apex whatever and 140 elder dragons in turns rooms, and if I rarely got hit, much less carted. Because not getting hit is easy as shit for gunners. EASY AS SHIT.

I don't even know why you keep bringing Gen into this when it's no factor at all on G-rank gunning. In 4U you use Evade Extender and never get hit. If you do get hit, you get almost oneshot because that's the price you pay for being able to shit damage out the ass at 2-4 rolls away from the monster, where you can react to everything.

I'd tell you to stop embarrassing yourself, but that'd imply you aren't just shitposting for giggles, and in fact know what I say to be true. Well damn baited.

It doesn't do anything new or interesting compared to Bullfango and Rhenopolos, which both have the "charge in a straight line" and "stamp around itself" moves, which afaik are the only things Bulldrome does. Therefore, anyone who played a game that has either of these monsters (e.g. Tri, 3U or 4U) has, in essence, fought a Bulldrome.

I've seen some people saying that the Tigrex weapons blow Grimclaw's out of the water, but is that accurate?
From what i've seen it's usually 20 Raw/1 slot vs 20-30 affinity, slightly better sharpness and faster arts.

Seems fairly even to me. I might just choose Grimclaw over regular Tiggy in most cases
Am i underestimating that 20 raw?.

At least the Training missions didn't advance the "day", so I could just get them out of the way. So far my favorite style is either Aerial HBG, or Aerial Switch Axe. The fact that in sword mode it gets SNS double attack really hit the spot for me.
I havent done any online or Hub, but I did Fated Four, and I've been swapping between weapons and styles to see which one I like. Sometimes the sword mode of Switch Axe doesn't get a sparking effect, is that just purely visual, or does sword mode phial not work 100% of the time?

With load up, you can pull off fullbursts that are practically equal to Normal lv.4 fullbursts, and since fullbursts are the name of the game for gunlance in Gen you're either wanting to get wide or normal since long's only boost benefit is wyvern fire which you'll rarely be using because that hunter art overheats your heat gauge and prevents wyvern fire usage.

you can't just sit there and poke all day with a gunlance and except to have fun or do a lot of damage. you're gonna be using the slam in Guild/Adept/Aerial style liberally and disregarding the fullburst that comes after it is literally just giving up free damage and intentionally gimping yourself. It'd be like playing Longsword and never using spirit slashes or dropping every SnS combo after 3 hits and waiting for your hunter to go back into idle before starting another 3 hit combo.
