The peace was interrupted by a loud rapping on the door before a courtier entered the room. No, not a courtier, the court Chancellor, a lowborn by the name of Baytas.

"Seven hells, I gave specific orders that I was not to be disturbed!"

The lowborn, known for his cowardliness, cringed, recoiling back at the verbal attack. If it weren't for his diligence and loyalty to the realm, the young courtier would likely be in the dungeons as one of Suleyman's "playthings," rather than on the royal council.

"M-my Sultan... Apo-pologies... There is i-important news..."

The Sultan glared.

"What news is so important that you would interrupt my solitude? I should have you executed, lowborn..."

"Your M-majesty... please... Y-your h-half-brother insisted t-that I deliver this news a-as soon as possible... m-my Sultan..."

Suleyman sighed, letting his rage subdue, at least momentarily.

The plan was to reduce the water level in the med by hundreds of meters. Water doesn't flow from the med into inland africa as it is, it would probably be really tricky to get it to flow there from 200m lower.

Desalinating from the mediterranean also doesn't make sense, as a constant inflow of salt water at the Gibraltar Dam and a constant outflow of fresh water from evap and desalination would eventually turn the the sea into a hypersalinated, dead body of water.

For an update I had a group of Dixie planters establishing themselves in the Amazon that's like 60% finished in terms of events, and planned an American legation taking control of Edo and getting involved in internal Japanese politics, eventually establishing a United States of Japan, but I never even got started on that.

Updating it is mostly a matter of creativity, and also potentially porting it from the weird version of vickymod it's built on to HPM, and I just don't feel like doing that, I love it but I've moved on.

Liquor meming had it's day, it was a vlaid point, it still is in many regards, but there are two aspects, two mutually exclusive aspects to why I dislike it.

Number one is from a game stand point, the way I feel it is justified. Yes, liquor is extremely profitable, but really, why shouldn't it be? If alcohol wasn't profitable then there wouldn't be alcohol sold in literally every shop. It's a fact it makes money. Plus the way it is simulated in game is true to life. Hops are cheap and easy to harvest and the bottled product can be sold at a lucrative increase, spo in this regard I feel liquor should be extremely profitable in game.

The second regard is the meming. The Wilhelm II with liquor fedora oicture, the countless memes, the fact literally every vicky post is proceeded by "post liquor factories". The fact this has been the default for a year now. I like memes as much as the next person but this is too repetative and it's gone on for far too long. I get that you have legitimate grievances with the profitability of liquor, you have every right to that, but the same tired old memes aren't endearing anyone. It was never funny, and you know the worst part? HPM listened to you. HPM made liquor less profitable and steel more profotable, because we all acdepted steel needed to be more profitable, and what did he get in return? "el grandido strikes again with his ebin steel fetish!"

So in closing, I feel the causes behind the start of the meme were justified but that the current second wave liquor posting is wrong. Liauormemer himself, the man who made this meme, even regrets it due to it's hijacking by the discord. I feel many feel this way but commenting on the state of affairs just causes you to shitpost more, as you feel it's "working". And it is, the general is getting worse every month due to liquor/grandi memes. So bravo.

In my view the game would start on December 26 1991 (fall of the Soviet Union) where you play as a nation just like other games, and you slowly move toward or away from globalization (imagine what Alex Jones or another conspiracy theorist would say) and you can do harsh methods like ethnic/religious cleansing your people, false-flag terror, government propaganda, etc. A major challenge would be trying to appease the many different ideologies and people living in your country so you could successfully globalize.
