The Beastmen are a cool faction but the pack is a bit overpriced for what you get. There probably won't be a price drop for some time, so if you really like the Beastmen then go ahead, otherwise wait it out.

There's a 50% chance that the caster damages itself though!

Select your lord (make sure not garrisoned or in a stance)
Select the quest battle (on the map or through quest log)
There's a button in the bottom right of the quest battle window that you can use to teleport for 5k gold (when the battle's finished you're automatically teleported back to your original position)

Group units with ctrl + g
Select your group and right click the enemy
All your units move and automatically direct themselves to engage enemies they get close to while maintaining formation

The Consort-King Orion weakens and rages against his fate, destined to be immolated on the pyre in the coming months. The forest undergoes a change of color from the vibrant hues of summer to more subdued and mottled shades of Autumn.

But if it is a time of waning, so too is it a time of harvest. The bounty of the forest hangs ripely, to be plucked effortlesly by the merry wanderers of its vales and meadows. How fitting, then, that in this, the first month of the season of harvest, the Wood Elves will make a bounteous gift of themselves, the latest and greatest of the factions to be released in Total War: Warhammer.

Assuming the Dwarfs are the standard for elite costly races, we'll have things like 75 for a standard unit or 60 elves in a Wardancer unit.

75 is a very small number for a spear unit though, so I wonder if Eternal Guard will be alright. Especially since I can't imagine elves having that much mass.

Treekin will definitely be nine to a group, but how many would a Dryad get?

A really fragile race with a low model count sounds like a lot of fun.

The most elite army in Warhammer is High Elven.

Dryads are fairly tough infantry while not being monstrous infantry. They are a Wood Elf troop choice that can actually take hits and not die immediately.

They are somewhat equivalent to Ghouls or Orc Big 'Uns in terms of strength and statline.

Vargheists are super squishy. If you focus fire some quarrelers on them they will melt. If you mean Therrorgheists, those are pretty tanky, but aren't really cost-effective agains dorfs since they're anti-large, ignoring them may be an option.

Dwarfs are probably one of the weakest armies at the moment.

Cavalry throws them around, their infantry gets squished by most comparable units, their best units are too expensive to be cost effective, they have zero cavalry or counters to cavalry, no magic, gyrocopters are ridiculously weak (seriously they get chewed up by bats), and their flame units are absolutely useless.

For a faction that's supposed to turtle their defensive capabilities are absolute shit and their offensive capabilities are just too expensive to make an army of.

Medieval 2, stainless steel 6.4, start in the late period as Poland, and go into the notebook editor and bring down the gunpowder age availability. The only issue is that it can be a rather big pain to install due to it being broken up into torrents.

Although to be honest the most fun game mode with that mod is starting in 1100 A.D. playing as the Khwarizmi Dynasty on the far east part of the map, because approximately 100 turns later, an extremely powerful Mongolian horde comes in to humble you, followed very shortly thereafter a almost as big Timurid invasion with Elephant cannons, rockets, and Kataphract Horse archers that are somehow just as fast as your light cavalry.

Dwarfs as it stands need a buff. Their units when compared to other armies, especially VC and Empire, lack versatility and stability.

If you're playing as dwarfs and you're not getting your ass kicked by those factions, you need to take off the training wheels.

A high level Vlad gives no fucks, dies to nothing, kills any lord in the game besides Grimgor, and is Sonic fast on foot. Mannfred's death magic can be replicated by giving Vlad a waifu, who is both lore friendly and a good secondary leadership aura/caster. That said, the vamps in general are far more fun than the necromancer lords, legendary or not.

He's right though, setting aside campaign and just looking at MP, Dwarfs struggle to compete with the efficiency of units like Greatswords or Black Orcs. Dwarf melee units hold for a long time but deal less damage than they should. Enemy elite anti-armor infantry always give you problems, while Dwarf elite infantry (Hammerers, Irondrakes) are almost a liability.

Mass and firing at large over your infantry (Can dwarfs not already do this? I know they can fire at things that are chariot-sized with no problem) would go some of the way to helping dwarfs, but their melee infantry still isnt quite where it should be. The basic dwarf warrior should actually be a pretty tough stunty, not someone greatswords can bully all day.

This looks like a pretty good ranking. The only dissent I have is that Greenskins are better than Chaos in my opinion. Chaos doesn't have as much flexibility, and Chaos Warriors/Chosen aren't that cost-efficient for troops.

Chaos pays out the nose for its good infantry, and Greenskins have access to solid infantry of their own along with great supporting lores, fast cav, poison, cheap infantry, and artillery choices.

Amazing artillery, unmatched elites that can break cavalry charges of the biggest monsters and masterwork crossbows that hit it's target a mile away.

We have mediocre artillery, easily matchable elites and not a single real counter to cavalry. Our bows are the best in the game, but they can't do their jobs if the dwarfs with the shields can't protect 'em.

And they can't.

If I were to balance them I'd say:

The other factions are getting new lords, new units, Units of Renown, small buffs and mechanic changes that constantly tighten the way they work.

Dwarfs just haven't gotten that.

It's almost lore in the sense that dwarfs stick to what works, but if you play dwarfs on the higher difficulties now you'll quickly begin to realize that a lot of the vanilla-stats and playstyles just don't work anymore.

The Chaos campaign is fucking awful. Just cleared it on legendary in ~3 hours and it's just a slog through Empire factions that immediately resettle whatever you raze. Empire armies are 75%+ free company/missile cavalry now.

To add the game files also show the rough landmass has been slowly developed since release with each update. Each expansion is supposed to be standalone so my logic said the map for Expansion one would look like that with the thick fog blocking off the view of the Old World in the same way currently fog blocks the view of the Darklands and Land of the Dead.

Yep that looks legit. Easily 300+regions, 16 playable factions and 120+ non playable. The new world is clearly just a rough outline and Nehekara,Araby and Darklands are first up perhaps released over time. The landmass looks to be the same size as the base games Old World so it should be packed.

Man I'm excited. To counter the distance to the new world. They could lower movement points for fleets and army transports crossing. So that distance might actually take 4-10 turns depending where the ships set off from or they could make it Empire style with the "theatres" system switching the map locations with a 2-4 turn arrival time.

The benefit is you get dosh from the army depending on the wealth of the region and the value of trade routes inside it, it's almost required to have one or two armies raiding at any one time against your enemies.

The downsides are the following:

Anyone with settlements or trade routes in the region will start getting pissed at you.

At least in Attila, that army's state will be 'Winded', meaning their units can never recover beyond 'Tired' in any battles they're forced into.

The army can only raid if they have 50% remaining base move distance.

An anon in an earlier thread proposed those ideas including all wood elf ranged infantry having the Stalk trait so they can hide in any terrain and a bonus attack damage to their first volley whilst hidden(Bonus is only once per battle), so you can have a bunch of melee infantry or cavalry drawing the enemy in followed by a lethal crossfire of hidden elf archers from two sides.
He also mentioned a regrowth mechanic enabling special "teleports" across regrown regions for legendary lords and their armies every few turns so it can't be spammed and a special "seed" event where Athel Lorens spirits instantly regrow an entire provinces forests from 0% to 100% every 40-50 turns or so. He also said a special "Slash and Burn" commandment could be added for non elf factions to fight the effects of the Elves.

It was very cool.

I just finished a legendary VC campaign with Steel Faith Overhaul. Dwarfs finished as the world superpower and had just declared on me when I wiped the Empire and achieved victory.
The mod creator says to not play on VH or Legendary because he balances his dwarfs by increasing their cost, but it worked for me. Slayers could take my monstrous creatures, artillery was scary, and their main line could hold. Only problem might be that it's a total overhaul, so it changes every faction, as well as items and other stuff. It's one of the only big mods I've found that doesn't just make the game significantly easier by increasing skill points or breaking the economy.

There are 4 different kinds of beatmen to procreate.

Parents are obliged to give them to the witch hunter so they can be killed but most parents couldnt do that to their own child so they just abandon them in the woods. 3.Some humans turn to turnskins later in life which is basically the warhammer equivalent of werewolfs. They often flee to the beastmen since they are considered outcasts and monsters in human societies. The beastmen consider them as unpure tho and even lower than an ungor.

Elves aren't capricious in Tolkein though, they're noble but reclusive. He considered calling them Gnomes because that's what they're closer to in character but he was worried people would associate them with the garden ornament rather than the European folklore.
