Don't use the Saint's Talisman if you're doing baited sunlight spears. Saint's hyper armor is really easy to break.

Use Canvas or Sunlight. Saint's is only good if you're spearchucking from afar because of its higher damage output, but it can't take a hit.

Is changing my charachter name with CE safe in ds3?

So I'm trying to play Dks 1 with a friend but DSCfix doesn't seem to be working. Looked at the nexus forum and it appears that the author hasn't updated it at all. We both checked to see if we did anything wrong and we appeared to dled everything correctly. However a log was created for my friends mod while not for mine, which leads me to suspect something is wrong. Is there a fix to the problem? Is there a new connectivity mod that everyone's using? I saw somewhere in posts for the mod that there's a way to use Tungle to connect but I'm not sure if shill.

Yeah. It's worth it for PvE because you don't need the hyperarmor to hit a boss or a big guy with a melee sunlight spear, but then at that point you might as well be using a chime. For PvP you absolutely need someone to commit in order to get them with the melee. And if they commit to an attack on Saint's, as opposed to on Canvas or Sunlight, you're going to eat a thousand damage because you're going to get broken out of the hyper armor, whereas with Canvas or Sunlight, your sunlight spear is guaranteed to interrupt their attack before you take too much damage and will allow you to finish them off. It's why I like the partizan; the horizontal swing has a ridiculous lingering hitbox and people tend to roll sideways after being hit with sunlight spear for some reason, meaning the partizan almost guarantees a kill if you hit r2 as soon as you hit the sunlight spear.

you can do it that way or you can have the game do half the work for you.

1.(optional) go into options and turn Manual Attack Aiming on - if you don't know what it does, it lets you aim "heavy" weapons even while locked on which can fuck you over in some situations but you get the hang of it pretty quickly.

2. 2HR1 as close as possible to opponent
3. hold R2 while aiming the stick NOT STRAIGHT BACK, more like a 5 o'clock, you'll need to feel it out for yourself. You don't aim straight back because the BKGS 2HR2 "backswing" comes out at a slight angle.
3. Either manually aim the Frontswing forwards or just let the stick go and the manual aiming will take care of it for you.
4. Uppercut.

Takes a while to """"master"""" but some tips I can give are go for HA trades for the R1, that's the most reliable way to get people into the combo, and also be AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE. Like. Walking into them. The R1 Stagger knocks people back a bit and the 2HR2 backswing has very VERY little range.

If you keep getting those weird ghost stuns that Greataxes get the combo won't go through and they'll be able to roll out before the frontswing can permanently rocket itself up the front-butt

It's just the glowing fucking cloudrocks in the backgrounds of the first one that ruin it.
The light from the burning crematory and the backlighting illuminating Cainhurst give a much better ambient feeling and a moire visually distinct backdrop that's totally lost in the super subdued light of the bottom one.

The reason they did it is almost certainly because the version of the game running in the pre-release footage was working on a devkit attached to a pc with a huge amount of resources available.

In the final game, the background loads much lower resolution graphic assets to save resources, and the lighting helps hide the fact that the Cainhurst in the background is a PS1-era lego castle until you get closer. The lighting on the tower was probably taken away for the same reason, since it would've been visible from a distance elsewhere in the level and they wanted to avoid drawing attention to low-res background assets.

TOH showed a tonne of footage of the new weapons and gear in action. In fact, almost half of the trailer's runtime was just dicking around with new toys.

Comparatively, AoA showed O N E new weapon, two spells and a new animation involving the fucking torch. They were so starved for DLC content to include in the trailer that they included B-roll of the generic starting knight character with a generic main game sword and shield fighting main game bosses just to pad the trailer's runtime. Literal filler footage.

That either means one of 3 things:
Even showing weapons would be a major spoiler (total bullshit)
They don't have enough work done on the new weapons/content to be able to show them in promotional material
They don't actually have much in thew way of new weapons/content and had to limit what they showed because showing more than 1 weapon would've been literally everything.

Given how DaS3 was handled, the second and 3rd are both very likely. I would bet money that weapons, spells and armour made for AoA will be cut and added to the second DLC (at the expense of the 2nd DLC's own content) because they run out of time developing it and BAMCO won't budge on the release date.
