saved engrams have decrypted into Trespasser so that would be evidence toward saved ones decrypting into new exotics when Rise launches. we don't know definitively one way or the other though. they were cagey when answering that exact question in the game informer podcast.

the only new, confirmed rise of iron exotic you can get right this second is Trespasser, the sidearm. you can get higher light boots and primaries but who cares, you'll get higher light gear on the 20th anyways.

To be honest I guess it kind of shows how the "skill based matchmaking" doesn't exactly help in this.

I mean sure, SBMM helps players get better because it constantly puts them up against their own level of play, so slowly there is some improvement.

But the way Trials of Osiris does it is flawed.

Lets say you have 3 1.0 players, they're not good but at the same time they're not bad (compared to players outside of /dg/)

Skill based matchmaking means they should constantly be put up against opponents that roughly have the same skill as they do.

Not "Oh, you're on your last game so we're going to match you up with these two guys that do paid carries every week, have fun" because that's not skill based matchmaking, that's just a flawed system.

I get that the lighthouse is supposed to be this pvp elite thing (in Bungies eyes at least) and I'm not saying it's too hard to get there (I've been there as many times as I've want to and then some) but for the lesser skilled players that make an attempt and then get shafted by the matchmaking it is pretty bullshit.

The majority of players will never be as good as players like Lumi or WishYouLuck, that's a given and no amount of crucible will change that, but that shouldn't mean they should be fucked for it.

Make it challenging for the shitters, but at the same time make it challenging enough that they can still get there.

If the playerbase is dead and there are hardly any players on then I can understand 1.0s being put up against 3.0s, but in an active state this shouldn't be an issue.

For all intents and purposes, Spindle is basically Icebreaker's Y2 cousin. I wouldn't discount the possibility of them maybe releasing it at the end of Y3/beginning of Y4 or something, to get it into Destiny 2 reworked, but right now Pocket Infinity stands a better chance of being updated.
