I only ever play 2-3 man or 6 man. I'm not an idiot, I know what a shit idea 4 and 5 q'ing is. If it makes you feel any better, I mostly play Zen and it's really rare that anyone will pick him first/ask for him. I can play tank pretty competently if the team needs it.

First 2 die easily, but are good for building ult charge. I usually place them just past the room once they die.

That said, part of the trick of symmetra is to place your turrets in different spots throughout the match, especially in places where the red team must turn around or look up to hit them. You want to divide their attention from the people shooting at them.
