Because you can get Chaos Vestiges really fucking early and it melts everything except things in the Demon Ruins. Its the pyromancy equivalent to Crystal Soul Spear, yet it doesnt suck complete and total ass. Its basically a scaled up Fire Orb, and doesnt penalize you for trying to do more damage in a single cast like most sorceries do, and isnt unlocked at the very end of the game like Sunlight Spear is.

No hornet ring is fine. Parrying in this game isn't really viable, it is simply too tricky to pull off, especially with lag involved, you cannot rely on parries. The best use of hornet ring would be for backstabs, which are not that good in ds3, despite having their uses even in the meta and top tier play, so making backstabs more rewarding makes sense, considering their sorry state now.

People who whine about hornet ring are the same people who whine about r1 spam or bs fishing or running attack spam, they do not understand how the game works.

My point was that, if you get parries, it is your own fault. The only real use hornet has is backstabs, but even they are in a sorry state now. When latency is involved, players playing unpredictably and centering their game plan around it, it is not viable to go for parries. This is why nobody uses hornet ring or parries among top players, hornet ring is for backstabs and for backstabs it is balanced, because it pretty much needs to always occupy a ring slot and can in fact never come into play for the whole duel, it is a very risky investment, but it can pay off massively, if you manage to pull off a backstab.

When I first played the game I didn't know about estus healing, (I had stuff equipped, tabbed past it and didn't read lol) I thought the only way you could heal was using humanity (I manually browsed for it) and that you had to do each level with your current HP and use humanity to heal if you find it

I got to pic related before I figured that out, hence why I love it so much. It was brutal

I only figured out about the estus flask when I summoned a phantom and he was low health and asked me to heal him and I didn't know what he was talking about

I've currently got a 40/40 quality build with Longsword and Carthus primed and ready to go.

Making a strength Pyro barbarian right now

One of the only type of weapon in this game with fun and varied movesets are twin weapons.

Surprise, surprise, these weapons also happen to copypaste DS2 powerstanced moveset animations and basically just sped it up by 1.5-2x

The whole uppercut UGS also happen to be....you guessed it! DS2 UGS moveset, but this time the hacks put it behind an artificial limit.

BK weapons are good, but they are just copypasted from DS1.

If you hadn't noticed, they gave you 6 player multiplayer with the idea of 2v2, 3v2 and 4v2 in defender areas. This is why invasions prioritize Hosts with summons, along with the fact that hosts that don't summon only need to be invaded once and he can not be invaded again unless through specific actions.

Now for real kicker. Prepare your ass for yet another arena, but wait! Its 3v3, 2v2, 1v1.
No monsters, just pvp. All players are balanced to a normalized average levels, all weapons normalized to +6/+3.

Thanks to you good goys, you will be seeing a whole lot souls in the future, in the most hated format.

FUGS nerf was justified but was overdone, ideally it should have just over 700 AR or so at 66 STR 2handed.

The BKGA damage nerf was alright, but the stamina damage nerf was the real damage to it and absolutely asinine. Ultras have enough problems with stamina consumption as is and increasing its stamina costs show From has no goddamn desire to make these things useful for PvE or PvP.

Read the gem descriptions. It completely depends on your build, Heavy gems are good if you have high STR but low DEX, vice versa for Sharp, etc. Some infusions will completely remove scaling (Raw, Fire, Deep) so they're best if you put in the bare minimum to wield a weapon and put the rest into other stats.

And it's not like the infusion window shows you exactly what the effects are and what you'll get out of it prior to committing.

finally beat this fag my first time, took me two hours. what's everyones opinion on this fight? a lot of people say its the hardest but i have to disagree, i found pontiff sulyvahn earlier in the game to be harder and he doesnt even compare to some of bloodborne's bosses. definitely some of the best presentation for a boss in a souls game, up there with gherman.

Most people don't. The description doesn't mention it at all, but like Profaned GS, it has a great buff after the WA, adding extra fire damage.

Firelink GS gets shat on way too much for just being good, and not being OP considering it's the final boss weapon. It's fun and good in PvP but not overly silly in terms of its apparent power.

It also has a WA that's basically just a better version of WAs like the Dragonslayer GA and can easily catch roll spammers with a weirdly lingering hit box.
