Trade and Taint is coming. Release is currently tentatively slated for early 2017.

Some elements from CoE4 and Dom4 are going into the game, beyond the obvious sprites. Overland map will be the 3d one scheduled for use with dom4. Games with progress a year per irl day (adjustable of course) with all characters in aging appropriately. Every time "taint" overtakes the world it will soft reset, with player towns strong enough to survive becoming hubs and the ones that fell becoming ruins to explore.

MA Ulm or MA Vanheim both make a good starting point.

The former you go mostly scales (I.e. dump most of your points into a good dominion), with (usually) an imprisoned N9 Irminsul. You then churn out many, many priest smiths, and large armies of dudes. The smiths can make up items to gear summons for dirt cheap, and also make for solid battle casters.

The latter, you take a W9Ex bless or an N9Ex bless, produce Vans and Vanjarls, and rush the everloving shit out of things. A Vanjarl and half a dozen Vans can kill a majority of indies, which means you can potentially deploy an expansion party EVERY TURN. Jarls can, later, be geared up and scripted such that they can solo PD, and with their ability to cast cloud trapeze and glamour, you can drop one from orbit onto every province your enemy has in a single turn, and then disappear around his armies until he's completely ruined economically.

So far, loving the game, just the sheer amount of mechanics and the amount of variability gives me a lot of questions.

If Blood Sabbath Communion takes 100 fatigue to cast and a blood slave, if a communioner has two slaves, will he sacrifice both in order to stay at 100 fatigue for the Sabbath master? Otherwise, he only has another 100 to give before he dies from the use of the communion correct?

I havn't touched blood magic yet in any of my games yet. Been playing Malverni for my first actual I understand a good chunk of the mechanics game.

If he is B2 or higher and Conservative Gem Use is not checked or if he has another spell scripted after it (even though he won't be able to cast it anyways), he will use 2. B1 mages can only use 1 slave.

If he has B1, he can only use one slave, and that's already taken up in casting the spell. So it'll always be 100 fatigue.

If he has B2, his fatigue from will be lower even with only a single slave (50), but he may use a second slave to lower it further (33) if conserve gem usage is turned off.

Best way to solve this is to have a mage with blood as a sabbath master. Having a communion master cast the spell Reinvigorate will remove all fatigue from the slaves, so you don't need to worry about the fatigue from setting up the sabbath.

Thanks for all the help. Learned the power of communions in the mid game of this Malverni game. Went to siege a cap and killed 12 of my stargazers with overspam because I overshot the amount of reserve fatigue, so just trying to figure all of this out, because it is obviously really powerful when used right.

The AI won't use communions, so soul slay is only a problem when it's got S3 mages. Pumping MR is also not a sure thing, since all it takes is one bad roll to die. Remember that there's an MR buff in astral too which you can cast.

Basically, Asphodel was huge and ran over Arco and went AI when marignon killed his pretender, despite being bigger than anyone else in the game
Pelagia then went AI, then R'yleh, then Bandar Log (despite having broken into blood with his diversity pretender), then TC after I beat a couple of his armies with a geared Ice Devil and the force I had sent to take Asphodel's cap.

Most of the provinces I took early on after expansion were from Asphodel, so they weren't exactly worth a lot. The gem income from his provinces was pretty damn good, though.

Gem income was really good for me since I managed to get a bone reader province and sitesearched a ton. I also found a loremaster province from one of Pelagia's few land provinces, as he was next to me and went AI randomly. I also managed to get Mother Oak pretty early since there wasn't much competition for it with Asphodel gone.

I had a lot of forests near me and with vaetti hags in M3 the only one to come even close to me was Marignon with the imprisoned statue pretender (I had a bog standard N9E4 Irminsul for the skratti communions and thugging with shrouds) . A big overcast on gift of health and an empowered gygja + vampire lord gave me a ton of tartarians to thug with and throw at everyone else once they realised that I probably shouldn't be left alone.
Being the only serious blood nation in the game, I felt safe in dumping a lot of blood slaves into vampire lords (I had about 10 summoning vampires for most of the game), got the ice devils and big devils from Loki, and then snowballed into demons and max diversity from the tartarians. So yeah, I kind of wish that I had more fights before getting into the "cast literally anything you want" stage. Jotunheim is a pretty damn good nation, overall. Their troops aren't too great (vaetti have great stats for size 1 though), but as soon as skratti communions are up most other nations are hard pressed to get through the amount of cancer and skeletons you can put up, although I imagine flying nations/ones that can cast mass flight will do fairly well. Or just rushing them before they get their magic up.

Is there a reliable way to guess how many commanders an indie province has so I don't have to waste an extra turn on an assassinate command or do I pretty much have to issue assassinate commands until my assassin can't find anyone in order to be sure?

Each different unit type will be a separate squad and have a commander. Each commander can only lead 40 men so if there's more then they'll double up. Most provinces have 3 at the most with maybe a priest.

Noob here with a question. There is a Throne of Darkness in my game which ensures every battle is fought in complete darkness. It has been so the past 15-20 turns. The point of this game was for everyone to have an alliance against Super-Ermor, so he started the game with a bunch of thematic thugs and so on. Then the players, uh, didn't ally against Ermor and the Super-Ermor player killed a major army of each of the players and did some other random stuff so most folks lost interest.
