id also like a sword and shield warframe.
How about a Warframe with a sword and shield which scales with the enemies you kill and defend against.

a shield that works like Iron Skin with a period of invulnerability while eating damage. Kinda like a Magic Knight in Dragon's Dogma. Can be activated to eat damage at anytime, but consumes energy to do so (nyx bubble).

a Sword which scales with the Last enemy you killed with melee and decide to keep as the Energy for your sword. Similar to how Nekros' shadows scale with whats been killed.

Probably have an Ivara Selection system to pick the weapon for the job. Sword, Hammer, Lucerne.

Fortify - Inexpensive to Activate. A Tower shield will show up their the Warframes Left hand. While out only Melee and Secondaries can be used. If you hold switch weapon, the shield will go on your back and your primary is now useable. It will have a base defense like iron skin and will be destroyed if it hits 0. After activation there is a period where it can absorb damage with a high cost. A power that can be reactivated while the shield is out to Fortify itself.

Ward - For 1/4 of the the Shields Defense and a small amount of energy a shield bubble will quickly expand from the Warframe (similar to Force from Fable games), over a short distance to push back enemies, block, and deflect incoming projectiles as well as dissipating poison gas. enemy's knocked down are open to finishers.

swordthingy activation - Low cost activation, a 1 handed sword pops out and deals the same damage as your equipped melee weapon. In its default state it is Uncharged and will consume Energy until you get a Kill with it. After 1 kill it will take on the shape you selected, it will have its own stats, and begin to scale with enemies you decide to charge it with.

offensive sword thing - idk, something like ward.

I've never liked the Tonkor. Even with Jet Stream. In fact, Jet Stream always felt like a waste because I don't usually use projectile weapons. Maybe the Drakgoon, but I'm hoping to get the Fomorian Accelerant mod before I mess with it anymore.

I have one blue potato. Is Braton Prime worth it, or should I hold on for something better? It's half the fire-rate but 3 times the damage, has a higher crit/status chance and runs off AR ammo, (goodbye ammo problems). And it's both silent & has a free polarity.

Because to me, what I like about Warframe is the mobility of sliding, rolling, bullet jumping, aim gliding, etc. Archwing throws all of that out for some standard flight sim stuff. And then made it worse with free movement. Flying just feels like ass. Or maybe I'm just not use to flying with keyboard + mouse, since I'm used to playing Macross and Ace Combat games on a pad.

I use it as a carrier for my artemis bow mods, in case I get nulled or magneticed, and it usually wants the same mods including shred for firerate/punchthrough (vs the tonk, better standalone weapon for almost any application but not quite the same modding profile)

you must understand what archwing is and how lazy its implementation is:
-playermodel shrinked so they can use already exisitng assets as gigantic shipcomponents.
-they reduced the momentum-stopping effect on the player so they drift widly.
-they added a modified jump command to adjust heigth compared to the standard plane.
-allowed the mouselook y axis to influence the direction of travel, not just the x as usual

And that was standard archwing. Then they proceeded to basicaly reboot the playerprogress by requiring new frames, guns, mods for the mode while the mode itself had no new missiontypes or unique mechanics to warrant its existence, and the only reward for it was tied to the mode, so if you ignored the mode, you lost nothing of value. And seeing how it was MUCH less satisfying to play then the same misions in the default mode, ignored it ppl did.

Then comes the rework that basicaly unlocked the z axis and added a barely working new mission while not changing any of the old content (like MR tests) to fit the new change

Yeah, and to make the Opticor better all you need to do is add fire speed, firestorm, and then you have six slots to focus on damage. Then it melts everything and you don't have to specifically aim for specific locations, deal with arc, travel time, futz around with reload speed or mag capacity, and if you really need to fire quicker you can skip like 75% of the charge time. It deals less damage that way, but still melts everything.
