Am I just a scrub if I find KOF's mechanic kind of annoying? I've played a lot of fighting games, mostly Melty, SF and GG, and I tried KOF for the first time with XIV but I just can't get used to the jump, I really hate it. Man, why do beginners always want to play C-koha or C-Arc or something like that? Anyway, C-Koha requires a bit more execution and combos than most characters, so be aware of that. She's based around doing her bnb into 236C and then launching a plant on the opponent to run her oki. She's a bit like Millia in this regard, but she is not as fast but has some pretty amazing normals.

Well I'm not a C-Koha player so i don't know all her combo alternatives, I know she can do much simpler stuff, the important thing is to get the oki. The thing is you lose corner carry potential and damage with that. I mean, it all depends on how good is good enough for you.

F-Kohaku is much easier, but she plays a bit different and may be a bit dull in the long run.

As I said I don't play her but I think she can do good combos that are universal, it just requires some tricky timings and cancels and stuff. But again, i don't play her so I can't tell you how hard they actually are to do.

There's not many characters that have that type of oki in melty, another notable one is C-Seifuku but again not sure how easy is easy enough for you. Oki characters in general require some execution because you need to apply their setups correctly.

F-Aoko is very easy and she has oki with her orbs. I don't think H-PCiel's bnb is too hard but it requires some initial training mode to get down and also she's a bit of limited in neutral and movement so you may not like that.

I don't think it's very different from SF, except instead of getting both l-m-h punches and kicks you only get one move per type. 2C is a sweep in 99% of cases, a lot of 3Cs are launchers.

KI is extremely fun. It has a good tutorial and singleplayer (Aria did nothing wrong) and balance is for the most part solid. Not perfectly balanced obviously (Fulgore literally has no bad matchups) but you're generally able to do well with pretty much every character. It also has one of the best soundtracks out of any current fighting game.

It also has a shit ton of character variety, with more on the way probably. It's the only game where you can find the girl from the ring fighting Conan the Barbarian in the middle of an amazonian jungle.

At the very least KI is worth downloading and checking out. If you want to buy in, I'd recommend waiting until near the end of the month, as shadow lords is coming out soon and they're probably going to have KI on sale during that period.
