Both have basically been around since Demon's Souls, but the very nature of the Conquered demands that the Conquerors come first. Why? Because Conquerors beat the path and light the way. Afterward, like mold or a rot, the Conquered seep into the community, ever at the heels of the Conquerors.

How is that? Either by a lack of information upon release or due to a self-imposed restriction, the Conqueror goes in blind. Conquerors embrace the challenge From Software has extended with each release in their Souls/Bloodborne Series while the Conquered abhor it. While Conquerors scratched and clawed their way through levels and boss fights, the Conquered poured over FAQs, Strategy Guides, Wiki Articles, Google Search Results, Let's Plays and How to Videos.

Therefore the Conquered subsist by virtue of the illumination spread over From's games by the Conquerors, entirely dependent on it. Overtime they've let themselves forget this, fancying themselves old hands as they bring their borrowed knowledge and tactics to bear on each successive release.

And then here comes f***ing Nioh, reminding the Conquered who they really are. And with little to no documentation in sight they hide behind s***posts so they can cling to that "gud" status they worked so hard to attain. Eventually they'll be back. Once the Conquerors have shown the way, that is.

Action game player - Low/mid stance - combos bosses and enemies - uses pulses/stance changes - rarely gets hit

DS3 force has a hard knockdown that sends target flying away into bumblefuck nowhere, if you cast it near the ledge it's almost guaranteed to send host flying into the pit. In DS2 force had no purpose whatsoever. Same with Emit Force if you can aim it well.
Linghting Stake is better than any DS2 miracle when it comes for roll punishment and wakeup game, the only actually good wakeup spell in DS2 is Outcry.
Hyperarmor effect on talismans means Sunlight Spear turns into a solid trade miracle instead of painfully slow ranged miracle, easily avoided even by total retards.
Lighting Storm is extremely effective when coupled with Black Serpent.

Meanwhile the only offensive miracle that stood relatively unnerfed in DS2 is heavenly thunder and even it can be avoided or even blocked with extreme ease. Bolt was nerfed so hard in terms of tracking i literally never saw it on arena afterwards.

DS3 brought for miracles far more unique and interesting things than DS2 which not only nerfed them into oblivion, but failed to add any good offensive miracles with DLCs. Splintering Lightning Spear is probably the worst offensive miracle in the entire series.

Swordfag here, there are 3 main options.

1. People who want to look cool but don't care about swords.
Weebs love katanas and as far as decorative swords go, the market is absolutely saturated with cheap, un-sharpened, stainless steel katanas.

2. Swordfag on a budget
This is something a lot of people don't know about, because everybody focuses on their $2000 katanas. As far as usable swords go(for cutting), katanas actually dominate the market for cheap cutters. You just need to know what to look for. Other usable swords are much rarer in a sub-$100 price range.

3. Don't know better or it's their preference.
I know a couple good cutters who own nothing but katanas, sometimes more than 20. They simply never experiment with other swords. This doesn't mean they're bad.

A lightroll isn't that nessecary

Even if you've dediced you want a lightroll, don't level vit. On a midroll build, you're using 70% of each point of vitality you add, and the absorption gains from armor still aren't enough to make a point of vitality as valuable as a point of vigor. On a lightroll build, you're only using less of each point you add, so it'll only become even more obvious.

Self buffs aren't good if you've got PvP in mind; things which multiply your attack/defense upward get nerfed in PvP, while things that penalize them have even larger penalties than shown. Lightning blade is okayish but resins are almost equal and require no investment. Flame arc is at least unique in that it lasts 90 seconds instead of 60 and requires very little investment. I've got a +2 flame I twink with and it adds as just two points less than a lightning resin at 10/12 int/faith.

Raw astora is good up to a point. Around 100/120, it's nothing more than a "better than nothing" low investment weapon for casters.
