Mergen is really bad.

Long CDs, relatively low damage, no utility, nothing original, weapon locked, and worse DPS than R7 classes.

Mergen is trash and will easily be outclassed by R9 and 10 since it's already worse than R7 C2 and all it has to its name is damage. No status effects, no buffs, nothing special. Fletcher was great because of low or no CDs and status effects. Mergen is nothing like that, someone at IMC just said fuck archers, let's just give them another lackluster offensive class and be done with it.

So Psychokino, Elementalist, Sorcerer, Necromancer, Alchemist, Rune Caster and Featherfoot get no skills they can make into scrolls.

I can understand Necromancer and Alchemist (Necromancer needs corpses to use skills and Alchemist doesn't do shit but make potions anyway).

Even of the few that get skills they can make into scrolls, that selection is shit. Joint Penalty is the only really good one, Enchant Fire and Quicken are decent but not amazing, and Reversi is stupidly situational but possibly useful in PVP.
Not seeing much use for the rest, especially if the cap on them is the same as the scroll crafting level.

Kind of annoyed how Quicken can be made into a scroll but not Swell Arm.

So since I recently reformatted with some regularity (once every 5-6 hours or so) my game will stop responding to any input at all, except that the character will follow around the mouse cursor. Clicking does nothing, none of the UI elements can be interacted with, can't open menus or anything. I've just been restarting the game when it has happened before but it's getting really annoying and just lost me a TBL match.

It's true for some things and not for others. Reindeer antlers and Panto Spearhead are more or less outright confirmed by the people that farmed them with Oracle, and my experience with farming monster gems is that a dpk item (Spell rod, red/blue orb, monster gem) will appear every 2-2.5k kills or so in the order Spell Rod-Spell Rod-orb-gem. Gold anvils seem to be completely random however.

Why do people believe that there's a certain kill count or a certain kill range rather than the game just throttling drops altogether until a certain number of kills has been reached?

Considering making a Swordnobi cause I'm edgy.
Right now, I'm thinking of Sword3>Pel>Barb>Dop>Nobi and dop2 at c8. If the damage is actually that depressingly awful, I'll just ditch the whole Nobi kit together and stick to 2handed sword Doppel.

Barb1 for the cleave. Reason for taking sword3 is for synergy with shinobi, overal utility with restrain and concentrate, and cause I already have a barb3fencer.

A big question from me is how important is barb3 to doppel's damage? Warcry, Seism, Pouncing. Is it too important to not take vs sword3?

From my testing, Warcry's phys atk buff scales with Deeds, so it's a great addition. Warcry's getting buffed when we get r8 too, so that's a plus.

Seism is good as an AoE stun and to use after DPE, still does decentish damage vs mobs as of r7

Pouncing is more of a bossing skill than anything else, the knockback can be useful sometimes. Cooldown sucks though (if you invest on Redel and Zucken they can be quite decent, so you won't feel it too much) and I haven't really tried it in pvp, ask Katzenberg

That's how I feel about how barb works with Doppel. About the build itself it looks messed up, seems like you want to do a bunch of things at the same time instead of specialising in one.

Why not go murmillo or lancer (well, you want to use swords I guess)? Redel And Zucken won't be good for r8 without their attributes, so there's little to no reason to lock yourself into two handed swords if you're not going doppel3. Nothing doppel has works with shinobi either, so I don't get why even get it.

A shinobi-murmillo variant would probably work better if you really want to use swords. I don't really have much experience with shinobis, ask some other anon to help you with that if that's what you want to do

Do Red Eye of Shtayim/Blue Eye of Echad actually exist? You'd think somebody farming Brandish would have found one by now and they seem to be part of a recipe for 3d goggles hat via magnum opus, but I've never seen one of them anywhere.

Doppel, just like Highlander and Barbarian is a class that works best if you commit hard to it, relative to C2. It's still good if you take a single circle of it, since that nets you Cyclone5 (good for the R6 stretch), Deeds5, which never stops being good, and DPE.

I'd recommend taking Barbarian 3 over 2, it's much better and Warcry's getting buffed to all fuck with R8; I'd only ever skip it if for some reason you decided you want to PvP on that character and went for Hook instead. And for the rest, ask yourself what the cornerstone of your build is going to be: If you're going Shinobi, you might not want to get that rank in Peltasta or Barbarian.

The SP regen is pretty damn significant, shame it won't work in PVP. Also, you don't need the pet to be mounted or even summoned to get the buff. The character who has the pet in "Bring With" status gets the buff 24/7.
