Note if you have Namine place her first on the Key so that you can copy the defx3 with def 3 Avas atkx3 can't kill you even if no def boosts trigger.

With the Def 1 their skills give Ava's Atk 3x does only about 4500 at most. Meaning it's survivable if you're level ~170 with all the HP boosts bought. This lowers dependence on RNG of Def boost 1 & 2.
The Illustrated Yuffie is good since she will do enough damage to pay her skill cost back making the fight faster and reducing RNG.

Depends on when you figure this should start.

If it starts right now, ENG will be VERY behind. Laughably behind.

It makes more sense to start doing one update a month in February, that way ENG will be one update behind. JP gets it first, there's a whole month to localize it, ENG isn't far behind, everyone wins.

No one starts as a whale. Even the people who start a game intending to whale it still start off f2p, and if the game isn't enjoyable then, they'll take their money somewhere else. Whaling a game with poor fundamentals isn't any more fun than f2ping it, but it is a lot more expensive.

That's why it's important to strike a balance. You have to entice people to pay, but that becomes almost impossible if the game isn't enjoyable even for nonpayers. And honestly, SENA isn't striking that balance so well. The pacing of f2p isn't so bad, until you catch up to the plot. But then medal development slows to an absolute crawl, and the pacing of the game goes with it.

I can see two possibilities for improving the balance. I don't think they should be used together, but I think either one would work. Either...

Increase the daily Jewel cycle to JP levels (i.e. not quite double), and make the daily Jewel quest permanent (again like JP).

...or...

The second solution would also likely dramatically increase the use of Jewel-locked Avatar Boards (limited and permanent) and other things that f2p players generally avoid.

Wardrobe is easiest followed by the hammer and then the cannon. So I'd recommend going to the hammer first since it's right at the start and he's a pain in the ass to kill. Cannon is last since you have to go through like five groups of enemies to actually reach the guy and he does 10k damage hits if you don't defense boost II.
