Less from a gameplay point of view , I always love the levels that take place with you on an airship or high in the sky. Either riding on the Tornado or just a level that's high up like Sky Sanctuary. Something's just amazing about that feeling of being above the clouds. Especially since those levels usually come near the end of the game. Give you that feeling of "Look how far I've come"

Silver's Rival Battle is something that it SHOULD'VE been in 06, but clearly wasn't.
It's not really based on his "just hit him a couple times when he's not trapping you in infinite stun lock with IT'SNOUSE" fight in 06.
The race-battle with Shadow is also pretty different, with the power orbs and shit.
The race-battle with Metal had obstacles in CD and had minor platforming shit, while in Generations, it ironically was more about speed and dodging on the fly.
In the 3DS version I think it's a little closer to the CD fight.

Talent is arguable, but it's retarded to say something like "Smith makes Sonic sounds too cocky" when that cockiness is entirely the result of the writing/directing. Same with Shadow being an edgy asshole or Amy being Minnie Mouse. All the current VAs have enough of a portfolio to prove they have enough range to make the characters sound like anything, which means how they sound is based entirely on what the writing and directing tell them to sound like. Hell, there's a large enough difference between mainline Amy and Boom Amy and that's the same VA. Shadow and Orbot are also the same VA.

And Sonic didn't really mourn his "death". He felt remorse for Shadow dying right after redemption and finding himself but he gave Rouge one of his inhibitor rings and left to go back to adventuring, leaving it behind him. And him hating tears does not mean he's never sad or capable of sadness. It should by all means make his sadness have more impact due to his aversion to it and attempts to ignore it.
