Dark Souls 1 did have those issues, along with having infinite supply of them at the smiths, but I usually rationalized that since the Age of Gods was super fucking recent, there'd be titanite everywhere.
Dark Souls 2 was better about it, even if most of the drops were pieces of gear and lifegems. That reminds me, I cant really recall getting much armor at all off of random things in DaS3. No Carthus Skeleton clothes, no Wooden Shields from soldiers in High Wall, no Hunter's Knives from Greirats, none of that. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I got a lot more shit in DaS2.

About to start Dark Souls 2 DLC for the first time.

I've heard the DLC enemies have insane elemental/magic resistances. I've been wrecking shit as a kind of Strength mage with hexes, but I get the feeling my mace isn't going to cut it. I've heard infusing a weapon with magic to benefit from both STR and INT is good.

So what's a good strength weapon to magic infuse? Preferably one that upgrades with basic titanite since I haven't gone to Drangleic Castle yet.

Started my second ever Dark Souls playthrough. My first time playing, everything was new, all the bosses were hard and I was scared of making a step and dying.

Now I'm running everywhere, have yet to die to a boss (I know I will, especially against spider-lady, my hardest matchup), and killing everyone I know is useless, but I'm having as much fun

People shitting on DS2 seems like such a god damn extreme to me. Like first off, even if it was the worst in the series, it is still the best game I played in 2014. Even more so since I dont even remember any other games from 2014.

Second off even though the lore and logic of said lore and story was subpar, I still enjoyed it. It was like a collection of short stories rather than a huge intertwining web of stories. Even if the latter is better, I still like what I got.

As for the gameplay it could of been better, but it wasn't bad, and I still think DS2 has way more variety in PVP than any other Souls game (I'm glaring vehemently at you, DS3 and BB...). Again, it's flawed, but that variety was refreshing and kept me playing long past what the gameplay would of carried me to.

DS2 ain't my favorite, but I never regretted playing it or hated it as much as people seem to complain about it. Soul memory was shit, but that was one shitty thing and a bunch of minor personal peeves on top of an overall solid experience.

Dark Souls 3? Fastest stagnating PVP I have ever seen. Dear god I hope the DLC only brings us weird and crazy weapons, there are so little interesting options...

You fail to get what I mean. All features in 3(and 2 to a lesser extent) are simply too strong or weak because of default number crunching and could be worked with.
Meanwhile, BB is all about a bunch of broken weapons (too many of them being DLC ones sadly) and who can abuse them more or DeS/DaS being about who can pull the bullshit of highest caliber and make use of unintended mechanics.
From not concerning itself with making PvP too balanced is what makes those interesting.

Fucking figured out a strategy for the Phantom Belldemons. Get them to fire green paralysis thing, dodge behind wall, rush in, r2 r2 (using a straight sword at least), run away from explosion, repeat. I'm feeling really proud of myself for devising such a plan.

DaS2 multiplayer was shit, there was no full blue or red eye orb and you were forced to farm for cracked ones in either PvE or the tryhard arena, on top of that Soul Memery basically meant that your character had an expiration date, and invasions rewards were the worst in the series

There were also a lot of stupid decisions with the covenants, like the dueling arena rewarding you cracked red orbs and being free to enter, while the blue arena required a token of fidelity for each fight which led to it being dead as fuck

Part of the problem is that at-release DaS2 was a shitshow. Parrywalking, bino-boosting, a host of various hitbox issues (and not even tied to Adaptability), and so on. Plus, at the time the only game to compare it to was DaS1, and it broke a bunch of traditions (interconnecting world, bonfire shortcuts, to name a few) that made it somewhat maligned. And keep in mind that a lot of the hate came before its fantastic DLCs, all of which are superb, as well as SotFS, which fixed a lot of the major problems. On top of DaS1 being a very fantastic game that even now people say was better than DaS3 on many levels.

It did lots of things wrong, but also a lot of things right (much slower Estus and item usage to allow punishing, an infusion system that greatly simplifies upgrading and adding elemental damage, power-stancing, fucking elemental scaling that makes non-quality weapons extremely viable). It's just a shame that DaS3 didn't take enough cues from DaS2.

Why did From not make two rings for boosting Dark spell damage? It would really help it become more viable.

It was an AI controlled dude with two claw weapons.
