XI is getting a mobile version, not sure if it will affect the PC version since it will be an independent version managed by Nexon. Dev team talked about the possibility of a single-player version of XI, but they really just talked about it and they don't have official plans about it (too much shit to change, from minor mechanics to whole areas and dungeons, and XI Mobile is coming so people will have a "second chance" to enjoy the story anyway).
XIV will probably last a very long time, just like XI (shit still get updates even after the final expansion/storyline). Maybe we will see a mobile game about it too, who knows.
