I never really noticed a yellow tint, it looks pretty vibrant to me. My problem is the contrast is awful. Like, blacks are grey and the viewing angles are bad. Even my N3DS with a top IPS screen seems to have deeper blacks and a slightly better viewing angle even though they're both IPS.

It's not really that bad, Hotline Miami for instance looks really colorful.

There has since been more information leaked/released which is why everybody is talking about a new device at all

If you want to despair, the one who leaked the device and meeting date stated that the new handheld will be a peripheral to the PS Neo, which goes in-line with the similarities of the chip too.
But like I said earlier, just take it all with a grain of salt until things get officially announced.
Rumors so far state that:

My brother owned a Samsung phone with one and I thought it looked fantastic. Deep blacks, colors really popped.

Saw a Galaxy S tablet in a store once and it was gorgeous, seriously stunning display. Extremely vibrant, but I'm sure that's also due in part to the ridiculously high resolution and the brightness being cranked up.

I'm not sure if a Vita revision will have anything higher than a 720p screen, if the screen is changed at all. But I would love an AMOLED display.
