Legion has functional PvP, better midcore content and a smoother gameplay experience. You'll have to deal with a shitter playerbase is most regards and the developers finding new and creative ways to fuck you over.

FFXIV has better casual and social options, better hardcore end game and a storyline that's worth a shit. The grind is even worse than it is in WoW and there's pretty much no gameplay customization.

I can't really recommend anything like trying both trials because both games are drastically different at end game than they are in the first 20 levels. If you want to play with /vg/, there's a bigger entry barrier for XIV because of the stupid server set-up, maybe try browsing each general to see which ones brand of cancer disgusts you less.

Or you can always pick the one with characters that give you a bigger boner.

The problem I see with XIV (after hopping between it and WoW) is that XIV's EX roulette dungeons are practically WoW's normal or heroic at best. They don't have a midcore alternative available to people who don't raid much. Dungeon content is too easy, and the raiding scene compared to WoW is if WoW only had LFR and mythic. Thats a huge gap and the developers cant quite seem to find the middle ground.

Is Bard fun to play? I've only really played Monk and Ninja and I want to try something new but after trying out ARC, DRK, WAR, and MCH, I'm kind of just tired. Is there a job that feels legit unique compaired to everything else? Astrologian is the only class that seems like it's wholly unique but I dislike healing classes because they are too boring to me.

Maybe I should just wait until 4.0 for a fun class to get me out of this rut

Most ebin relationships arent even compatible which is why they fail. I feel like that with friends I've had for years. There's 4 of us but some play the same roles and trying to get it to work out can be a pain because they all came to my server to play with me.
