If you get a used copy I'm not sure if it will work cuz I'm assuming there's codes you'd have to enter to DL the DLC and odds are those codes have been used up.

And to add in case you don't know. trials and banner are finished on ps3/360. They will get no more new content or updates. Not sure what else you will lose when ROI comes out. as previous DLCs prevented you from doing things such as nightfalls if the nightfall was the strike.

so as the other anon you might just wanna stock some money for the $60 ROI cuz you're gonna have to get TTK again and then ROI. Might as well just get it all in one shot.

Make sure you get your Legendary Sword and infuse it to 280 as soon as you can spare a weapon to do so.

Do the Daily Heroic Story and Daily Crucible as often as possible to get Legendary Marks. When you reach LL260, do either Heroic Vanguards or Level 41 Prison of Elders to get more (on your first three completions). Level 41 Prison of Elders will drop high-level blue gear as well. The Weekly Crucible rewards Legendary Marks as well on your first three wins.

Get your rank up in the Crucible so that when you get 150 Legendary Marks, you can buy a Hawksaw from the Crucible Vendor.

Get somebody to help you get a Black Spindle.

Pick up Calcified Fragments around the Dreadnaught, you'll need them later to get Touch of Malice.

Do Gunsmith test weapons. They suck, but there's some good weapons waiting at the end and you'll be able to start buying orders.

Besides that, just play. Do your Quests. Do The Taken War. By the time you've wrapped up The Taken War, you should be close to ready to raid.

I would do your best to buy the Hawksaw being sold by the Crucible vendor, but that means getting to Crucible rank 3. I wouldn't worry too much about gearing up right now because vendor gear will definitely get an upgrade when Rise of Iron comes out. Just try everything to have fun, like the raids, Heroic Strike playlist and Challenge of the Elders.

The Destiny community is split down the middle pretty evenly, I think. If you want to get into a raid I would make a thread on r/fireteams and just be honest, say that you haven't done it before and you'll get people willing to help you learn it. Do read up on all of the mechanics first and gear yourself appropriately. If you want to do King's Fall on Normal make sure that you're 280+ and have a high-impact sniper like 1000-Yard Stare.

Hey /dg/, should I get back into Destiny?

Originally a Year 1 player, I dropped Destiny after beating the main story (which I found lacking) and reaching the level cap. I haven't touched it since then.

I've heard that since then, the game has basically been patched and reworked to the point of being the full "Destiny experience."

Now, I'm strongly considering getting back into Destiny, but here's the problem: I no longer have access to my Year 1 character.

Is it even worth getting back in, only to have to work my way through everything as a noob, essentially bypassing the year-by-year experience everyone else got? I'm sure there aren't many people who are going to want to carry a noob like me through the raids, either.

So, my question is: Do I buy the full Destiny package with Rise of Iron, and join back in from the very bottom, or should I wait until Destiny 2?

You didn't really play much of it at all, then. Even before the expansions the real meat of the game was the raid which was great. Since then they've added a lot of variety to the endgame so it's not just raiding, and PvP can be your entire endgame if you want it to.

If you buy that collection that comes out with Rise of Iron you'll get an item you can consume to level up to 40 so you can just skip that part. You'll still have to do quests to unlock things I'm sure.

this mostly depends on the weapon. most people favor high RoF primaries (except for hand cannons for the most part) because they're more forgiving in more types of encounters. a high impact scout has the fastest time to kill but if you miss a single shot, you're fucked.

most people have a PvP set and PvE set of weapons though.
