It's weird to have people come from FFXIV and say nice things about gw2. Sadly in gw2 we don't have enjoyable stuff like fishing and what not.
What was FFXIV like for you?

In my humble opinion GW2 does some things quite well, if not really well - many of the maps in game are really enjoyable to adventure around and immerse oneself in. There's also a game-mode called 'world versus world' which I really enjoy. I also enjoy the creative aspects of character creation and development, there are many ways to develop one's own unique character which I love.

I personally wouldn't mind a sub fee due to my financial situation, I can afford it, and it would be my hope that with a sub-fee we could get more content - however, the lack of a sub fee is definitely attractive in many ways, no doubt.

After the expansions final boss, I can even understand his statements:

The cinematic aspect should be there when you fight a being able to destroy your world. Failing to do so (like in the expansion) would be a huge let down. Its a fucking +100m long dragon, not making it cinematic is dumb

Having giant laser cannons, the pinnacle of technological achievements from all races, bombarding this monster is too easy mechanic wise. but is somehow satisfying in other ways.

One is farming daily rubies. You get 3-4 rubies once per day per character for killing Hablion and following the Jade Construct chain to the duo construct boss. Salvage into magic.

You can use the mushroom chain glitch. If you waypoint somewhere while in the middle of jumping along a chain of jump shrooms you'll warp in a straight line across the map to your destination, collecting any magic nodes on the way.

Easiest way to see this in action is to warp to the Ground Zero waypoint and take the nearby shroom. Open your map on the first jump, then when you hear the second jump, waypoint to the airship. You'll immediately get 100-200 magic by doing this.

This doesn't work on individual shrooms, only on the chains where the launch of one shroom immediately drops you onto another, but there are a couple such chains across the zone. The magic respawns fairly quickly, but you can also just swap characters if you've got them sitting in the zone.

How come almost everyone can make great looking characters by changing sliders and having a good armor / dye combo and I'm basically the only person that really sucks at all of that?

I get a fair amount of compliments but my slider-fu is pretty shit. I mostly stick to unaltered (middle/centre) sliders for my preferred face. I usually notice when a face is heavily customized and it often comes off as unnatural to me.

Usually I just come across a piece of armour I really like and play around in the wardrobe until I find an ensemble that suits it. Show it to other fashion-inclined friends, get feedback, tinker a bit more. After that it's browsing the dye catalog for the perfect hues, usually some outrageously expensive gem store dye.

Level 13 right now. Is farming the Farmer Hamnet quest the best option right now? I'm getting 16XP per kill right now and it is brutal. Are any other Vanguard quests good for farming or at least more interesting? I'm dying here.

this is Abaddon. An Abaddon statue. One that doesn't paint him negatively like every other piece of Abaddon imagery in the game.

It is located in the durmond priory, a structure built AFTER the events of nightfall, and matches the statues found in divinities reach, also carved after the events of GW1.

Does this mean that the priory doesn't think that kormir actually achieved godhood? Are the priory secret abaddon cultists?

Also notice the eye of janthir up above the statue, looking down, as if shining the truth upon him and revealing the illusion. the symbology says that kormir is a ruse and is actually abaddon.

If Anet is trying to decommission Destiny's Edge in favor of their Diversity Brigade, how will the ruins of Ascalon eventually be reclaimed and returned to the people of Ebonhawke?

I had always figured that Logan would get ahold of Sohothin and he and Rytlock would dispel the curse together, sort of the culmination of their reconciliation.

I suppose it's not impossible that Braham, being possessed of MIXED POWER could come upon both swords and single highhandedly dispel the curse.

Abaddon's original purpose was as the Keeper of Magic, if I recall. He was responsible for keeping tabs on an ancient power, which is sort of the Priory's thing.

The way he's holding the scroll, I'd wager that whoever made that statue presumed that Kormir's "Keeper of Truth" title was hereditary and was also a role of Abaddon, so they probably figured Abaddon = truthkeeper = Priory, when he'd obviously have much closer ties to the Order of Whispers.
