Depends on the story. Lovecraft has a fair range. I'd say nothing I've written comes close in terms of the tone or atmosphere of Cool Air or The Festival (a favorite of mine) . However my biggest inspiration as a writer is At the Mountains of Madness, which to me had the elements of 'modern Lovecraft', tentacles and insanity, but also explained all of them very in-detail. That they made you insane didn't make them impossible to understand for the reader. It kept the monsters scary and psyche destroying but also gave them goals and a history worth studying.

Reasoning is universal, even for strange beings. This may be why Them having a very structured life setup and goals turned some people off, but for me that's a large reason why I still think Them were a highlight of GQ. Even Unit .1. They have big goals that make humanity seem pitiful and worthless because they are tools to harvest and recycle for Them, yet at the same time, Them have a pretty rational setup going from their perspective. It's Monsters Inc meets T.H.E.M. from Telltale's Sam & Max.

It's nice seeing Oracle and Phillip take those first steps to closing the gulf between them while still having issues they're holding back on.
Dusty's freakout was surprisingly frantic and I can see why Phillip would be so alarmed. I liked that she did try to give an answer but her memory banks failed to work. The scare plan for the night sounded really spooky and I'm somewhat sad it wasn't shown. It could've really shown how rattled Phillip has become from his time in GQ by having him almost blow the show from flashbacks. Maybe something like seeing a younger patron being told to hide her eyes and thinking she's around the age of one of the victims. Would've put a downer on things I suppose and the chapter is fine without what works better as left to imagination.

This proves you still don't know what you're talking about because those were non-standard character designs whereas the phantoms and the nightmares and the FNAF World characters are rehashes of the same four characters. The Sister Location characters are mostly completely different from Bonnie, Freddy, Chica, etc. Funtime Foxy's a fixed Mangle that's returning from FNAF2 to give the character an origin, and Funtime Freddy is there because the game needs at least ONE Freddy. Otherwise, the rest of it looks completely new. I doubt it's going to come out and the thread will universally ignore it and declare it a "desolate wasteland".

How so? It's gory if you draw it out in great detail the whole idea of being suited thing,but in game it's presented with the same level of horror and macabre as the typical ending of a Give Yourself GooseBumps book. You get a picture of Mike's eyes goofily popped out of a Freddy mask.

FNAF4 did seem to go for a more 'mature' furry robot adventure, but even then it wasn't anything you couldn't see with a T-rating. Hell, on the iphone app store, the first FNAF game has an E10 rating. And Scott had his kids test the game, it is what it is, a family friendly horror franchise that anyone can enjoy. Especially if they have the autisms.

I don't know if you're still around but I'm going to answer anyways. The writefaggotry provides world building and backstory (that's usually) set in the past to the voicefaggotry's present.

It is (mostly) about an altogether eldritch entity in a Golden Freddy suit and its interactions with the other robots, shenanigans usually ensuing. It crosses multiple genres, with spooks and comedy being the majorities. There's also continuity as I try to keep everything canon as I can, so the stories are all connected (including the voicefaggotry).
