In the crunch, I think Symmetra lends a little bit more to the party animals than D.Va, since Roadhog is already a fine tank. D.Va's mobility makes it harder for her to cling to their pace while Symmetra is just as sluggish as them. Together, the trio could have a field day with turrets and bear traps while Roadhog bounces enemies around between them.

It's simply not designed for singleplayer. With well over 20+ characters to choose from, some of them definitely not doable like Torbjorn, you'd have to cut your development team in half to make an almost entirely new game. Because for every single player map you make balanced for single player that's time, money, and resources you could have made on a multiplayer map. Especially with something like Overwatch. No one is going to want a singleplayer where all of the enemies consist of basic shoot and cover AI in fancy looking set pieces like in CoD. They'd have to do something like Half Life or Doom and in all that time you could use some of those cool enemy ideas and designs to make a hero for multiplayer. Or fuck, work on the netcode. No, they made the right choice. It's not a singleplayer game. Singleplayer would have doubled their work and would have been tacked on. It's a class based multiplayer shooter.

What they actually should have done for consoles is package it with another game like the Orange Box did for Tf2. That's the only thing you can really fault them for not doing, but then again why would you buy an FPS on console if it's not console exclusive? It's just the truth, if you want to play an FPS to its full potential you cannot do that with a controller.

Presumably because they've been pretty PC focused and they've been wanting to get into the console market for a while. See their decision to port Diablo III.

At the very least actual impactful game content is free. It won't be like CoD with its $15 map pack DLCs (I don't know if they still do that these days it's been year since I've played one).

I can agree with that, but that's something else entirely from what you were getting at as far as console ports go, come on. You know that wouldn't magically make it enough by your standards on what should be a full priced console game. I think that would be nice but they just seem to have followed TF2's model of handling lore. It's not something everyone is going to agree with but it's almost a refreshing problem since games have been getting way too up their asshole about story in last few years. This one has just set it aside elsewhere if you're interested in it but has kept it out of the way for people who want to play the game for the game.
