This game, man.

I barely thought it would live up to 64, let alone exceed it. I've been playing for four years straight across only two mains and about five secondaries/tertiaries, and it has been absolutely and utterly humbling. My breath is being taken away at every turn.

I just drowned trying desperately to make my way across FD against a dark skinned Falco main, with ominous lasers startling me from far across some massive flat stage. Earlier I was marveling at an Ice Climber player with amazing handoffs. Players were screeching in the distance and tinkling trumpet chords of DL64 played in the background.

I very much appreciate the technical aspects such as wavedashing and hax dashing, but most of all, this game has been an extremely emotional experience for me so far. I could barely pull myself away from my first tournament once I played my first friendly. No matter what I'm looking at, I have this excitement and this wonder and frustration that I am inevitably missing so much. I have never, EVER felt this lost. Melee just beckons, wordlessly. What a beautiful, beautiful, titanic game. I have no words.

Enjoy, everyone. And thank you, Sakurai and Nintendo. Mission complete.

No. They don't have a default set. If you turn on Customs and go to each character. There is a default button for all characters except for Miis. That includes Palutena. The 1111 is arbitrary. In tournament mode, you can make a tournament with custom on and no miis or custom off and with miis. They don't follow the Custom feature. They are their own thing. The only reason 1111 is forced because people are butthurt about 3 characters are unique and they overall hate them. If it was any other cool character, everyone will love them (Shulk, Ryu, Bayo, Cloud).

What other characters have KO Punch and it features, Monado, Limit Break, Witch Time, Luma and attack while Rosa being grabbed (Icies couldn't do it), Ryu's pressure attacks and true specials? Icies being two characters, PTrainer being three, Zelda's transformation, Peach getting items. They are customize characters as advertise and allowing their alternative moves in Non Custom Mode is their gimmick.

I figured out why Lucina's AI seems so keen on using Counter, when Marth's generally doesn't.

Just played 3 matches vs. LVL9 Marth and 3 matches vs. LVL9 Lucina separately, and then I pitted them against each other, and came to this conclusion:

The lack of a tipper mechanic on Lucina's weapon causes her to have less kill options, and Counter is one of the few (if only) she has left.

Most matches against Lucina began with her instantly Countering when I ran towards her. The ONLY time Lucina managed to K.O. me was when I attacked, and her being a LVL9, she read my input, Countered before my attack could land, and sent me flying. Never did she ever land a standard attack that killed me, she was only able to actually kill me when I hit her Counter.

Marth mainly dodged, but did manage to K.O. me with a few well-placed tippers.

When they fought each other, Lucina seemed to win more, but only because she kept Countering Marth whenever he was going to land a killmove. Marth did manage to K.O. her when she miraculously didn't use it, however.

She is, going by statistical information, going by game mechanics, going by definition, a worse version of Marth. Even the game knows it and requires her to use her only viable killmove (which is also a "press me to win" button) ad-nauseam in order to be a challenge. Even her character artwork has her in her Counter pose, as if subtly letting us know that it's all she can really do.

High level Smash 4 is nothing more then poking your opponents shield with safe aerials, running away to reset neutral waiting for a shield/dash grab opportunity and then going in for a guaranteed d-throw to X combo as well as the occasional roll behind grab mix up. I'd say his aerials are lacking offense, like fair has weird hitboxes and is hard to use, his dair does spike but it's not very strong, his bair is his best aerial killoption. His tilts can't really kill either.
His down b shield can gimp certain characters failry easy, especially pk boys, his projectile is worse than Pits imo

I don't know about Dark Pit but most likely Mewtwo. Also glass cannon =/= high risk, high reward. Glass cannons do a lot of damage but can't take hits well (e.g Mewtwo, Little Mac, etc.), high risk high reward characters are rushdown characters who get comboed to hell and back (e.g Captain Falcon, Fox, etc.).

I'm not cheating
I'm trying to make Dark Pit somewhat more distinct from regular pit. Most of the changes I've made so-far are either buffs or changes that break-even. Basically I wanted to make him lighter, either 90 (Marth) or 85 (Zelda)
However I'm also considering just finding other ways to nerf him since finding the weight parameter is proving troublesome and would technically be "wrong" given Pit and Dark Pit have the exact same body.
What I really need is someone who understands Dark Pit's current moveset and properties so they can help me make him more aggressive without doing anything unnecessary or uncalled for
