Anyhow, I chose to save him... even though I quickly dropped him afterwards. I thought we were going to be bros for life but I got real sick of having to input combos for two characters and found someone else who was neat.

I'll do my best. For now though I'm sorting out with the translator of the first game (which is actually the third) an issue with display text in the battles. After he solves that, I'll post the translated game here (if the thread is still alive). Also, the games are mostly standalone so it doesn't hurt that much to play out of order. Godot takes a lot more setting up, I think. You have to activate inidividual nodes and stuff.

Keep in mind, I have experience in GM and not Godot so right now Godot might feel more complicated but is actually easier to use.

Is the power fist weapon in Underrail a reference to fallout, or is that a common type of weapon in these kind of games?

I just need to do the institute missions (haven't really done much exploring of upper underrail at the moment) and then the deep cavern missions.

Still got to save that train from Rail Crossing. I'll probably save, do the Free Drone Quest, then go back to the old save and do the Protectorate questline since I like them better.

Siding with free drones is good if you're not a sneaky guy, since other missions unrelated to the free drones still involve you having to infiltrate various protecterate bases.

If there were some easier basic enemies to have these sort of battles with, it'd be easier to figure out what is even going on

I was thinking of making some sprite sheet edits for the various Joyful warlords for potential attack animations, although I was thinkng of just cutting corners and using painful party members as a base (like giving Vega attack animations based off Rage's, Pink Ranger's, or Cliff.)

Not sure about the other guys, Sindy probably fought similar to Olan before he got strung up, maybe Mr B's abilities would have dialogue balloons like Terry and Nern. Lardy would probably be easy to copypaste the various peel out attacks Fardy had.

It's not bad but the controls are a bit janky for sure. It's split into types. One half of the game's about walking around the game world and doing light platforming to get to quests and advance the story among other things. The problem is that one of the control options is to jump and move around with the mouse and the controls aren't exactly precise. I think there's another way of controlling the character but I don't remember what it is. I think the shmup sections have the same control systems and problems. Oddly though it's not so bad controlling the shmup ship with the mouse though since the bullets aren't too bad and it lets you move however quickly you want. Plus there are melee weapons for the ship along with shields and bullet weapons so it lets you have a playstyle where you you can just quickly just get into enemies faces and quickly back up really good while also avoiding the bullets like how I play. Like it's a fun game. I haven't finished it but it's definately worth a check, though it takes a bit to get used to it and figure out how to navigate the hub world. Also don't mistake the actual story section entrance for the endless mode like I did.

Its a sequel to Charles Barkley Shutup and Jam GAIDEN, an rpgmaker game. Summarizing it would do no justice, so google and download it, its not too long.

As for Barkley 2, (what its going by to avoid copyright infringement), it had a kickstarter to fund the game, but afterwards, very little news relating to it have come out. There's bits and pieces of gameplay on youtube, but its no longer an RPG, plus it looks like it has extremely little to do with the original game, and its funding is going into making it a full fledged game.

The original kickstarter did say the gameplay would be more like a genesis game, I think they might have said Shadowrun on Genesis specifically.
