Leidsenkraft 190 raw, 18 Dragon, 20% aff, Impact. Having more natural raw and only slightly less natural Aff makes you benefit more from WE + Crit Boost sets, even if it doesn't have natural white.

Cosmic Edge, 190 raw, 10 Dragon, Impact, natural white and long blue, good if the dragon element is only an afterthought. The sharpness bonus compensates for sub-200 raw.

Ionian Gear, 170 raw, 40 Dragon, Element, good for enemies really weak to Dragon, pair with Dragon Atk+2.

Maxilla Edge, 200 raw, 12 Dragon, long natural blue, with S+2 has considerable white and extended blue. And having 40 more raw makes the sharpness modifier actually mean something.


The only arguably shitty Dragon CBs that doesn't get much better from L'Essor are Onyx Strongarm and Malevolent Blade, and even then them have a niche in Blunt Sets, with its raw and long low sharpness.

Only real reason to use L'Essor is looks.

One of the good parts to triple toads that I first thought was a bad thing was that it moves to the tiny cave area where theres very little room for it to move so you can go to town on its inflated tail. The amount of HP they had is insane too. Remember soloing this quest. It was my first Hunter Hub quest that I soloed w/o cats. It was actually pretty easy with my SnS Striker. Managed to stun all three monsters at least once and then switching to Crit Oil to seal the deal. Yeah they hit like a fucking rock but hyper monsters are so easy with SnS while using Round Force and Absolute Evade Ready since they charge ridiculous fast if you are hitting their glowing spots.

It was already said, but poison itself is great. All status is great. The problem is that, especially so in Gen, the devs fucked over status HARD. There are maybe four good status weapons out of the entire lineup of all 14 weapon types, and as far as I know, none of the poison ones are good.
The reason they're saying poison is shit is because weapons in this rarely even reach 170 raw at the final stage which is too low to be usable outside of multiplayer, and even then unless you're fighting Kushy you're better off running a weapon with >200 raw for actual decent DPS.

Guild poke is bad because last one in the combo takes ages. Lance has infinite mobility with absolute evade / absolute readiness now and crazy good damage with enraged guard. You can use all 3 and the normal pokes with striker. I never use dash juices myself, you rarely run out of stamina if playing well. You want to position yourself with the sidesteps, evades and charge, rarely need to sheathe unless it's some shit monster.
