i started out on Subtlety and enjoy it, but everyone seems to like Outlaw a lot and i just dinged 102 so thought i might try it before i decide where to dump all my power points

I disagree. Frost has amazing survivability if you know what you're doing. The amount of CC, defensives and escape mechanism that you have means that you can get out of some pretty sticky situations.

Obviously, any class will have difficulty fighting off 3-4 players hell bent on ganking them but frost mages stand a better chance than most.

I feel like destro should've gotten a different artifact and gave demonology the scepter. Opening portals to demonic worlds makes tons more sense for demo, although the talking skull is awesome. Why is everyone hating on war being boring again? It's like you NEED to spam something on ever gcd, it's fucking intense, and you have the best fucking mitigation ability of any tank ever. Or am I missing something?

BM Monk was fine but this is bonkers, I like blood but I feel he is currently not raid viable and has near 0 mobility. I still have yet to try guardian druid.

I haven't even looked at the artifact, but I hope it only gets better.

I wouldn't say that Frost is THAT bad. Sure it needs some buffing, like maybe make Obliterate scale properly. But you can do good dps with the right talents and rotation (and some good luck with crit procs).

The issue is that Frost is only good for dps, and when ranged dps already outdoes you without even trying, a lot more groups are gonna pick ranged over melee. The lackluster mobility (though this is a class-wide problem) doesn't help either. Ranged are already out of the way, and DH's can just fel rush or double jump out of the way. A DK's only bet is wraith walk, which is way too slow and short.

With that said, I'm gonna main Frost because I simply think it's fun. Not like I'm gonna do mythic raids anyway, so fuck it.

Also Shadow leveling is eh because your self sustain is terrible. Take Schism/Purge the Wicked on Disc and just blow things up with Penance.

I tried both Holy and Disc in a levelling environment, although the former more so than the latter. I occasionally peek at the damage % and the difference is marginal, in my opinion. Holy Word: Chastise hits like a truck and can summon T'uure to double-cast your damaging spells. The bigger difference is you don't have to stop dealing damage to heal yourself.

I am levelling with friends though so Holy's been a non-issue so far.

Are the archaeology zones locked on a daily basis? I was hoping to do highmountain but I seem to be rotating through only stormheim areas at the moment.

I've been playing my destro alt and the rifts actually very nearly solve the long Incinerate spamming downtimes that result from shard lottery. I imagine it'll get even better once I sink a trait into Incinerate being able to proc rifts.

DPS-wise, I am pretty much obliterating mobs while having more self-sustain than other rDPS.

Nope. They're all roughly equal, but they all have strengths and weaknesses. Fel is stronger than Arcane, Sargeras juiced up with Fel was strong enough to take all the other Titans on at once (Who used Arcane energy) because Arcane is weak to Fel.

Technically Fel is the 'strongest' magic if you're purely interested in blowing shit up but it carries a whole lot of risks with it.
