assuming kids 2 through 6 were tested the same way Frisk was, she had reason to believe they would survive. Though the entire backstory of the first six kids is rather unknown so we can't actually say how right she was to let each one into the rest of the underground
Assuming the armor/weaponry is what each kid brought with them, we know at least one of them had a gun.
