Been playing with hardcore characters on an exp large world, not been counting the deaths but half were mistakes. Made a local cactus farm i'll expand and a farm for potion ingredients.
One character dug a shaft to hell and another a crimson tunnel to get the gunsmith.
Will try and take the brain on in an arena outside. I'm learning what tactics to use and so on for when I restart for corruption if I beat the moon lord in a minecart.
I now love fishing and buying marshmallow in the snow biome a lot more.

Last major thing I did was put walls around the entire hellevator and finally kill the king slime.


Does a player hitting 200hp mean chtulu eye and goblins can spawn even if the player dies after? Life crystals have been my biggest challenge so far.

Taking a break. Still trying to decide on what a proper solar eclipse shrine would be. Messed around with making a Sky House+ instead, dunno. I always wanted a Cloud Biome. It'll take a few tries before I get this idea right. Also makes me annoyed white paint won't paint just the leaves. Can't make proper cloud trees.

Most decent melee weapons should have more than enough knockback to keep them at bay. Other than that, since it's corruption you can just dive down the first hole you see, bomb it, and rape everything with the Musket.

You could also git gud and learn how to dodge their charges.

I'm experiencing a surrealist event. I think I tweaked some weather setting in TEdit, because as soon as I started the music started to stutter, the game slowed down, and the sky loaded to a flat color that started to cycle through different hues and intensifies, right as a massive wall of rain started to slowly fall down. I force-warped down to Hell, and the game sped right back up. The weather radio reported it was a Heavy Rain.

I waited a while. Still didn't end. So I slapped down a sundial and tried my luck. It still didn't end, and I watched the wind speed fly up to 300mph extremely fast.

So I went to the surface. Balloons are flying across the screen sideways in huge masses, the sky keeps flashing rainbow colors through the clouds, the rain is HORIZONTAL, and the speed is sketchy. I'm gonna wait it out. Or try to build some sort of rainbow seizure hurricane shrine.

The screen is going berserk cycling through a bunch of strange mixtures of lighting and coloration in a fast set pattern. The winds just keep going faster, up to 500mph as I type this. The party still hasn't ended.

Nah, I quit out because of lag. The title screen was amazing though since it stopped lagging and sped up to like x100 speed. The sky was just an infinite screaming color smear with no day or night visible, and clouds passing by incredibly fast. I'll check back in later to see if it's still going after a load, it was making my laptop ready to puke out. Makes me wish there were mods to adjust the lighting more.

I find the opposite is true, with a little bit of effort you can skip right to molten armor within a couple game days. just get enough iron to make a fishing pole, gather some fallen stars and worms to make the good bait, fish a reaver shark(ocean) and obsidian skin potions(from crates), then just dig straight down and gather up all the materials in the underworld. with two obsidian skin potions you can get enough to build a full set of armor. and you don't really get attacked in the lava, sometimes imp fireballs which are easy to stop with your pick and occasionally bone worms, nothing else can attack you in lava.

other fast-power up techniques include:
>Using bombs (which can easily be found in pots and surface chest) to get a the musket/undertaker within the first day or two. >Head up right away and look for sky islands, having a Starfury early on makes the game pretty easy.

keep in mind that there really isn't a penalty for dying on the normal difficulty, yeah you lose some gold but once you have a piggy bank that isn't really an issue. so it is usually far more beneficial to risk a death and get a reward than to play it safe.

I feel like the game is too fast paced until after the mech bosses then it slows a bit too much. Having said that, if you play the game one tier at a time in order to challenge yourself I am pretty sure that expert skeletron is impossible without cheese.

Okay. Here we go. First you download autohotkey and you know the drill. The scripts autohotkey uses are actually just text files, so go ahead and create a text file. Enable extensions and change its extension from .txt to .ahk

You'll need to open the .ahk file with autohotkey. At the tip of your script you pretty much always have to write this stuff:

#IfWinActive ahk_exe Terraria.exe

The first line tells autohotkey that, if you run a script file and then decide to run it again, it should replace the old file with the new one. Say that you've made a script named myscript.ahk and you've decided to run it to test it. After testing it, you didn't like some things and you've modified it but you've forgotten to close the last instance. Well, you just double click the new one and, if you have that first line, autohotkey will automatically update the script.
The second line makes everything written under it work if and only if the window active is Terraria.exe. This is great if you have many windows and only want your hotkeys to work for certain games. Just go to your game's folder and look at its executable to know what to put on the second line instead of terraria.exe. Note that I don't know if writing terraria is the same as Terraria. I don't know if its case sensitive.

Let's go to actually binding keys to certain things. There's the single line way of doing it and there's the multi-line way. Here's the single line way:

a::b

That line means something like this: every time you press "a", send a "b" keystroke. The left part of the :: is what key you want to change and the right part of the :: is what you want to change the left part to.

WheelUp::Numpad3

That one will send a 3 form the numpad every time you roll the mouse wheel up.

Now let's get to multiline hotkeys. They look like this:

XButton1 is what you called 5th mouse button on your pic. XButton2 would be the 4th mouse button on your picture.
About that multiline hotkey I wrote, every time you press the 5th mouse button, autohotkey would press the enter key, hold it down for 50 milliseconds and then release it. You've now seen the sendinput command and the sleep command. Sleep just waits and sendinput... sends an input.

So here's how a tiny script would look like:

I've put it between equal signs for readability and clarity. In this case, that script would be pretty much what you need: rebinding the "click" to the 5th mouse button. I've just tested it and it works. Terraria is a bit fucky with autohotkey. Normally, you should be able to write the hotkey in a single line, like this:

But that doesn't work all the time. You can try only using that one-line hotkey and see if it works for you.

But what if you want a combination of keys?

^XButton1::Click

That ^ in front of the XB1 stands for control. If you press control and the 5th mouse button, autohotkey will send a click. This also works:

LControl & XButton1::Click

In fact, I prefer the second method because it's more readable, and you don't have to memorize what "^" means, or what "!" means, or what "+" means.

With all this, you pretty much have all you need for most games, son.

My batch file shat the bed yesterday right after I went to sleep and hasn't made a single snapshot since 889 days while tshock kept running and saving the world. What a pain in the ass. I guess this experiment with this particular world is finished.

Conclusions:
- Jungle is a strong independent biome who don't need no Terrarian
- The jungle's terrain can be so wild that it might stop the spread of the crimruption. In this particular case, the jungle was impenetrable from its sides. Keep in mind that I even helped the crimson a little by putting a few crimstone blocks past the gaps the crimson couldn't get past, but it still couldn't take the jungle from its sides.
- Chlorophyte seems to be hit and miss with its protection. Sometimes it protects a certain area, sometimes the crimson can pass by chlorophyte without problems.
- The jungle's weakest point is its entrance. Once the surface jungle went to shit, the crimson began making its way into the jungle through its entrance.

I will now make a little test to see if the altitude affects the spread of the crimson. I will make 2 strips of different materials, one placed above elevation and the other one below and see how fast they spread.

Anyone know the best way to duplicate water in the console version?

I'm still pre-hardmode but I'm preparing a surface mushroom biome ahead of time and wanted to add a lake there. However, trying to duplicate water in the console version via bucket is extremely tedious and time consuming due to some fuckery that's making the bucket switch inventory spots when emptied or filled, and it takes over a full second to be able to start cycling through the hotbar again after activating a bucket. It's pure torture.

I started on the mushroom lake a while ago, but once I figured out the bucket was gimped to shit compared to pc I gave up until I could get the mechanic for wire. Now I have the mechanic and made a pair of pumps to try and make an automated water duplication machine but it's either really slow or I'm doing something wrong.
