Is there an essential side quest guide for DA:I? And by essential, I mean stuff that advances companions questlines, and general story stuff.

I really love the game, and I have started multiple playthroughts but have only finished 2. Both of them took 60 or 70 hours to complete. Like I have other stuff to do, man.

Ok, I think I didn't put it right. A lot of companion quests have different triggers that I think are determined by approval and other decsions you made. With my first character, for example I didn't get Blackwall's reveal because I think I missed some conversations with him, even when I did his collecting side quest. In my second time around, I fucked up somehow and couldn't intervene in the Divine election.

Also, you need power to advance the main plot, and I feel I'm very inefficient at collecting it fast.

tl;dr What I want to know it's if there's some sort of guide to optimize how fast you can get through the main story and get all the companions bits as well.

So while trying to make my first rogue Inquisitor (Qunari) I realized I could kind of make him look like Gannondorf and that's pretty neat.
So tomorrow I'm going to remake it properly as a two-handed warrior.

Now I know you can't be truly evil in this game, could I at least be passable as Gannondorf? I feel like being a warrior with some magic thanks to the mark is fitting.

And are there any followers that would fit the theme, or should I just play solo? I'm leaning towards that, but I feel like I wouldn't be able to play with any trials on if that were the case.

Mh, I had the feeling the two teams were strictly separated and each had its own resources.

Also, it's not like the DA guys have to work on a new engine, prepare assets from scratch, design different cultures and styles, and make all that work on the old consoles too. That's something they already did with Inquisition and the road to DA4 should be mostly paved right now, especially because Bioware loves reusing assets and animations.

I understand they need all the attention and hype to be focused on Andromeda right now, though. That game is still a complete mystery and things don't bode that well for it, considering how silent they have been about it and how different the Mass Effect team works, compared to the Dragon Age guys.

I'm actually surprised they are taking this long to even tease DA4: almost two years have passed since Inquisition and they showed that game at PAX, then at E3, together with a little tease about Andromeda.

If they did the same thing now, the hype for Bioware in general would grow a lot and both series would receive a huge boost of attention and advertisement.

If you look around and talk with people on social networks, you will see that most of them couldn't care less for Andromeda and only want to see what the Qunari are planning and if Solas is going back to Lavellan.

What I loved about DAI was that it effectively showed how an organization as big and influential as the Grey Wardens was doomed to become corrupted and dangerous.

In Origins the Wardens are shown being pure, pious, and selfless because the scope of the story is all focused on the Warden, their story, and the darkspawn. But you can already see how many secrets the Order has, how it doesn't tell you everything, how involved with politics it is (the First Warden doesn't even live in Weisshaupt anymore, he controls the king of Hossberg to gain more power and guide the Anderfels).

I actually liked how the Wardens fell into disgrace in Inquisition, it was realistic, and in Trespasser it's heavily implied the Inquisition is going to end the same way if it doesn't disband or swear loyalty to the Chantry.

It's surreal, but even people on Tumblr don't really care for Andromeda that much. They get excited when something new is revealed, yes, but then they remember all the bullshit the ME team said, how cold those devs are compared to the DA writers, how they kept dodging questions and avoiding showing stuff, and all agree that yes, it's probably going to be disappointing, so "at least give us DA4, because we saw that Weekes and the others can do a good job".

About to start playing Origins for what's basically the first time (briefly touched the game a couple years ago), and I heard there's a bunch of gameplay bugs and shit? I've found a shitload of bug fix mods, I'm just wondering what's necessary to get the game running properly.

Not interested in additional or "improved" content, just want a mod or two that'll fix all of the actual bugs in the game. Something like the Oblivion Unofficial Patch. What do you all use?

Morrigan Restoration Patch and ZDF Dialog Fix are cross compatibility dialogue fix mods to fix the numerous amount of broken dialogue flags.

The fix portion of the Dragon Age Rules Fixpack fixes a bunch of busted abilities and effects. You can also choose which fixes to use so if you don't like some you don't need to install it (no crushing prison on friendlies means you can't combo out of a forcefield)
