Anyone mind giving me a brief summary of how the various healers function?

I just got my first character to 100, a monk, having never changed out of the dps spec. I started a priest planning on going shadow, but disc was the default and I love it. Dungeon spammed a bit to ~35 seeing how I liked being a healer, still loved it. Reminds me of being a prot monk from guild wars. My only gripe is that I feel super bad when it comes to group wide healing. This is mostly a git gud thing, learning to better utilise atonement healing through dps, but eh. The main thing I love is the shielding bubble, not the dealing damage part of the spec. I've tried holy a bit too but it feels like all you do is spam heal over and over, very occasionally doing some minor damage. Do any other healers have some form of damage mitigation like the shield bubble thing? Is disc actually good for 5 man dungeon stuff or is it more of a raid thing? Is there another healer that is better for a first time player?
