It does give information you just have to look into the parses and see, it can be pretty time consuming to do if you are looking at a lot of runs. For example this guy in my FC recently leveled scholar and was crowing about his dps in A5, which was a little higher than my own and I've mained sch for some time. Well I went and looked and he doesn't do the gorilla, whereas I always have. I also trigger the puddles, which usually doesn't prevent me from still attacking the boss, but sometimes does like when we have to cross the arena for boost (I have never had the good fortune of doing a boost-skip run). Also his HPS was lower than mine but with a much higher overheal percentage (avg 40% vs avg 15%).

Somebody just giving it a cursory look might think the other guy was better, but if you delve into the data you can see the reality.

People in the thread just post historicals to get (You)'s. Fflogs is a valuable tool and when properly used it can tell you a lot.

The guy I was talking about is such a parse whore it's really annoying. He only plays jobs where there's no competition (in other words no actual DPS jobs) and then tries to get the group to cater to him, going so far as to tell people to throttle their dps before an invuln phase or a phase change to give him extra gcds or wiping runs when the parse is bad. I don't think he does this when raiding, but it's sort of uncalled for when we're trying to help the FC casuals get clears. This reminds me of when I first played.
I was waiting at Sastasha for 2 full hours with several other people around me, only DPS.
We all thought we were doing something wrong to not be in the dungeon yet, so we formed a party and went in without the duty finder. "How hard can it be. lol they're lower levels it's fine"
We barely made it to the first mid boss before we wiped and died.
It was funny looking back on it, I almost uninstalled the game because I didn't want to wait two hours every time I did a dungeon.
