-Faster reloads for sure if you don't have aa12. Your preference with AA12, I like capacity for the ten more shells ready for a zed time barrage, and for getting more ammo from boxes.
-Damage, unless the team is shit.
-Penetration isn't much of a help so mainly this is a matter of preference for the spread. Tight spread is good on big maps and good teams, wide spread small maps and worse teams.
-Supplier, it's a massive help to your teammates. Even being selfish, it's also a better help for yourself, since stumbles have their downsides.
-Barrage, no question, at level 25 your penetration is excellent anyways

Simple Answer: No.

Crappy bloated muzzle brake.
Helps with recoil, but being a pump, the recoil is only a matter of comfort anyways; by time you can shoot again the pumping action is more likely to have taken you off target.
That weight and protrusion in the front would be much better spent in defensive or KF2 purposes on a longer mag, that model only holds 5+1.
It's also got a rail, which kf2 uses for a flashlight, but there are other, sleeker ways to mount a flashlight to a regular pump's barrel or mag.

A dumb choice for horzine, but a smart choice for TWI, that tumor gives it a very unique look, so you don't mix it up with anything else.
But I bet the real reason was because they wanted to put a flashlight on a pump shotgun, putting minimal thought into it, and that thing with a rail happened to be at the local gun store that day.

There are easily-adjustable chokes that go outside the barrel, just give it a twist for the spread you want on the fly. They stopped getting made, probably more because people didn't like the looks, than anything else.

no. yes. often, occasionally

Compared to commando, swat has less potential with his weak damage, but more ease of use, with the low recoil and huge mags. He can also carry three onperks at once unlike commando, and he has flashbangs to help with scrakes.
Commando helps the team more, with zed time extensions and stalker callouts.

Wave 1 spawning, SWAT is the best perk by far, skills can give you mp7/dualies/100armor for free, $650 value when the standard spawn is $200. And along with that being a lot of equipment, MP7 alone is perfectly suited for the wave 1 zeds, mostly clots.
Boss wave, commando is so-so for hans, but a big help for pat, calling out his stealth. SWAT is worse for hans, and equally bad for pat, bad boss perk.

The detriments of a firebug on the team is something else entirely.

Dunno for myself. I found an old forum post where someone claimed they took one out, and the barrel was threaded, but the adjustable choke was crudely press fit into the threads, instead of threading in to them.
It does thread into itself, though. Turning the outer sleeve piece brings it back, which pushes the fingers of the inner piece towards each other to work as a choke. Pictured is with no outer sleeve.

The kf2 level system is considerably messed up. Actually performing your function is not as rewarded as it should be.

For example, some perks ask you to perform headshots. Getting a kill on a zed that you shot in the head gives you 1 more xp. That's less than 10% extra xp for just the clots.


The game isn't nearly as grindy as kf1, but it's still really grindy. The experience you get from performing your function should be increased by a lot, to incentive players to perform well, and make them actually progress faster.

Superperktraining maps come from the perk levelling flaws, prove me wrong. If it was fun to grind, people would not need to use those maps

I suggest RLLRL (last tier doesn't matter much.)
The only reason to go for the extra stun perk is to 1 shot stun fps with the crossbow. That isn't needed anyway since you should be able to kill an fp easily.
In fact, with the hitstun buff they added to m14 you should be able to kill both FP and SC without using the crossbow at all. So you should consider m14/lar, using the lar on trash whenever it's possible because they nerfed m14 ammo.

Or just play gunslinger, because m14 sharp is just shit gunslinger rn.

Anon, make sure you don't have too many boring corridors.
Think about completely blocking some and having the player take alternate routes to keep the different floors varied. (of course block them at the start so players don't have to wonder down to see its blocked)
I'd also suggest using something like a fire escape or scaffolding to give an external route up or down.
Finally consider spawns and which rooms would be inaccessible to players so that zeds can spawn.

If partial damage goes to your health and partial damage goes to your armor, you can almost always survive easily while you still have armor, and enjoy the buffs from a good medic, and your armor lasts a good long time before you're armorless and vulnerable.

Clot grab resistance is good, but not a huge deal.
The 50% is just spawning with it, not maximum, so that does make it good for wave 1, is all.

Alright /kfg/, I've run into a problem and want your opinion.
I'm making a map used almost entirely of imported assets from STALKER. I thought the Hospital would be a central part of the map I'm making, but then I realized the Hospital was much larger than I thought it was and the interior was much smaller and corridor-heavy than I thought.
I've only "play tested" it by putting a single Clot down and seeing how well he was able to keep up with me if I ran around and how easy it would be to find my way around. Since a lot of the rooms look nearly identical and the corridors are so tight, I decided this was probably a cool concept but horrible in practice to play on. I still want to make a STALKER map, but I want it to be fun to play and not just a proof of concept that it works.

So, for any of you that have played STALKER, what level would YOU like to see converted to KF2? Only a portion of the level of course, not a single whole level, that would be way too big for Killing Floor 2's standards.
I personally was thinking Limansk from Clear Sky would be the best option, but I'm open to suggestions as long as the map would play good.
Just keep in mind I put the following restrictions on the map:
>the map can't be way too dark and can't restrict sight lines too much, like Red Forest would
>no way too tight corridors (the tightest corridor has to be at least big enough for 2 big zeds to pass through each other)

The closest to a sewer I can think of would be the Waste Processing Station in Zaton, but that's pretty open and is only really 1 building. It would be the size of Farmhouse at best.
A maze sounds kind of like Jupiter Underground or any of the labs, but those all suffer from the way they're designed. That is to say, because you were only meant to be a single guy walking down corridors with only a few enemies here and there instead of hundreds of zeds, it would be a HUGE clusterfuck. Imagine Bioticslab with the scale set to x0.5.

Well sure, that's also in Zaton, but the problem with that is that the beached ship would only be slightly better than a decoration. There's hardly any space to move on inside the ship, and in a large radius around the ship there's basically nothing but grass and swamps. If I were to port it over accurately, it would basically be like the bush sections of Farmhouse turned into a whole map. Horrible to play on, sadly.

True, but there's also the issue of HOW BIG we're talking.
While it would probably be doable to import ALL of Limansk as one giant map, it would probably need like 10 trader pods, massive amounts of pathing, playtesting, and collision setup (I have to do it by hand because of how the models in STALKER are set up when imported over to Unreal) which would massively increase the amount of work I have to do.
Just getting the west wing set up in the first screenshot I posted took 30 hours of work, most of which were thanks to texturing and placing models.

i just re-downloaded stalker to look at the multiplayer maps, and in terms of ease of porting them to kf2 and having them be easiest to balance, they're probably your best bet at least to begin with
they're all sufficiently walled off arenas that for the most part provide a lot of movement choices, if not having quite long sightlines in the main areas.
a lot of them are actually pretty large as well, easily comparable to kf1 farm. if there were traders on the edges of the maps, you'd probably struggle to make it to them if you were all the way on the other side come trader time

though there's a few issues you'd have to address:
several areas, mainly rooftops, are designed to be reached by ladders. you'd either have to stack piles of props to make ramps up to there, or just not have them at all
many of the interiors are one-way areas, designed for camping because you can shoot through the windows. this is a problem in kf2 though, since players can be unwittingly cornered in one-way areas, or they can be overwhelmingly ideal camping spots, so you'd probably have to block them off with props

just my two cents on the matter, but i think the mp maps would be your best bet. at the very least you could take a look at them for the big fences that surround the maps, and use those to block off the singleplayer ones if you use those instead

Way to ignore the entire part of the post where I talk about kiting. I played modded maps, I played HoE, and I kited as fucking commando 80% of the time. It was fun to a point but eventually it always ended up being - follow the same route around the map, killing one clot at a time to abuse the spawning and letting a zerker solo the FP. Horrible broken gameplay. I have fond memories of kf1 for the first 200 hours or so- but I got a very good look at what the higher level of play would become and decided to abandon the game before I ruined my experience of it.

FB has, with the newest iteration, become a fire ninja. Duck and weaving, he spreads fire to opportunistic moments.

Plus, sheer flame efficiency. FB has what...620 ammo with his flamethrower? A single puff into a group murders them, 5 puffs to kill stragglers. FB is incredibly dosh-efficient. So much so that I give at least $500 per wave to other classes that need it.

In the very post you quote I'm really serious about speedkills in KF1. KF1 Commandos can take on a Scrake but it can be really tedious; as it requires watching healthbar really closely and aim precisely before loosing an entire mag of SCAR/FAL to head just before it touches you. As for KF1 Support everyone knows the classic Hunting blast combos with flinch uppercuts on Scrakes and nade stacks for FP. There are many more.
In KF2 no such combos exist because Support nade pool is pretty limited and AA12 is strong as it is.

Yeah I did. I still remember all the weird combos, crouching with a hunting shotgun and all other manner of tactics. You can parry any attack with the katana. As it stands I prioritize weapon purchases like so:

Perk Weapons > Medic Weapons > Katana

Since Berserker has no need for a Katana I'll pick up a Trenchgun if I have the money or space. Namely because it has the best aggro draw in the game.

How would combos even work in KF2?
Most on-perk weapons (aside from firebug) can handle big guys on their own without needing to use things like an off-perk LAR or xbow for a stun.
It's pretty much hold M1 on their head until they're dead.

Commando is my thing and I tend to switch up skills now and then, mostly in ammo management and tactics

Preferred loadout is
>High cap mags
This really depends on how you're feeling. Generally more mag capacity is favourable to quick reloads
>Impact rounds
I like it for occasionally getting big guys out of my face. Quick weapon switch is alright. Backup is better for HoE so you can go through Rifle 1, rifle 2 and then Dual 9mm with backup. With this combo nothing should be alive at the end.

20% more ammo is fucking useless. Even on HoE long you wont run out of ammo when you have all your weapons. Even less of a problem if you're running backup.

Self-explanatory. Objectively a better choice and tripwire are retarded for making this a possible choice.

Mostly personal preference. This is better for keeping up your extensions during zed time. Synergises well with backups quick switch speed

I think I was the only one in KF1 to actually enjoy Bedlam as well, even though that I called it the Disco map because of its ridiculous use of colors. I felt like that map was the pinnacle of "Do your fucking role"

I think KF2 has an opportunity to diversify the gameplay from kf1.
maps like biolab in kf1 had one good area for defending. Sure, other areas existed, but they were never as good as the spawn location in that map.

KF2 is the same thing, there is one best area to defend in each map. I think there is untapped potential, considering the lighting system and door welding mechanics.
It would be cool if you had to move locations where you defend each round. Because the doors don't regenerate like they did in kf1, and the lighting in rooms can get blown out, you would have to move to new locations in order to have a strong defense position. Each position you take loses its power as a place to defend each round.

The problem is, welding doors at all is a bad tactical decision, in either game (with exception). It's better to keep your exit routes clear and let the zeds trickle in, instead of making a dam for them to build up. Is there any way to fix this? If so, the difficulty in the game can be ramped up, as well as make you defend from different positions each round which would be more interesting.

I made it a bit bigger. Also added scaffolding, going to put them at other spots too.
I was thinking of making an entire floor really dark/foggy with lots of zed spawns. You can completely avoid it, but there are more ammo and weapon pickups. Might try it later if I get further.

Each of those rooms identical room will be no more interesting than the last. Try your best to find something unique or interesting to fill all that space with.

Not trying to rip on your map but tight corridors and repetitive design are a recipe for disaster
