I don't know how they do it (I don't work at nintendo) but I'm assuming they have a lot of native code and engine code for the snes/nes/gba/gbc/gb and implemented it into the 3ds/n3ds for the games to run so smoothly

you can emulate a windows partition on a mac and then run an .exe .msi unit of code
but if you run it on a windows native system and you don't need to translate anything it will run a lot smoother

I read something somewhere from thefl0w about being able to use plugins ala PSP at least for the emulator. Could this possibly mean we'll be able to use the native emulator for upscaling and PS1 texture smoothing? It seems like a waste of good dev time porting over emulators for the two when we could just work on improving the built in ones.

Also on that note, since we have access to write to protected partitions, does this mean we can similarly modify system apps? System wide theming is probably a far off dream, but I would really like to see something like the Reader app modified to accept different file types or a Music app that can stream from Spotify in the background. I also wonder if being able to run in the background is somehow an elevated permission. Molecular shell desperately needs to add that.
